The cover on the left is for the UK and the cover on the right for the US, where plastering the word 'Spider' on a comic book carries with it a certain set of challenges.

A previous draft of the release very clearly had the word 'hardcover' in it, no idea where that disappeared to. But in answer to your question: it's a hardcover.

« on: 08 October, 2021, 12:53:50 PM »Yes how hard must it be to design these things with the copy in mind. Anderson and Death getting lost to the back copy as well. They should do it as a dust jacket and have the underside clear of copy, or put it in the endpapers as well.
This is the design for the dustjacket.

You're very kind, unfortunately what little artistic ability I had has long since atrophied so the sketches will have to suffice!

Less an entry and more a regret. Years ago, I talked to Bolt about doing a short story for Dogbreath using Whistler, the Strontium Dog character he created. He patiently listened and said he'd be happy to run it. I did a bunch of sketches and half a first page but never got around to doing the whole thing, mainly as I could never think of a decent ending. After a while, I felt too sheepish to continue and dropped the idea. I regret that I always found other things to do than finish it. But these are the sketches I sent to Dave of Whistler at the time, amazed I still have them to be honest but glad I do. (And yes, I knew I drew his head wrong - Dave never mentioned it)
