(Are you an Albion fan boy?)

Eh?  :o

HAHAHA Not you mate, a FB Pro ThreeA group of zealots!

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
To tell the truth, you can all get screwed.

Pete Wells

Yeah, the Albion lot are fantastic. A really warm, funny bunch of guys who have no loyalty towards ThreeA. I wonder if you're getting mixed up with the ThreeA Legion, who really are a bunch of mentalists. (Oh no, I'm starting to sound like those Cosplay judges now  :o )

COMMANDO FORCES

Put yourself on report you troublemaker Wells!

Colin YNWA

Wow... well this thread has turned from a good old traditional board bickering about nothing party into a surrealist nightmare.

What the hell are you lot talking about? I mean you've cheered everyone up sure, but I'm out my depth. Can't we get back to bitching about toy or specialist model making companies (all about your perspective) and each other, rather than this good natured tomfoolery?

The board was so much better when.... etc etc...

Bah, I need my 3A Dredd for my 2000AD Advent Calendar entry this year!

Just get CF to dress up as a Judge and film him instead.  If you have him stand a long, long way away the scale will be right with any figures in the foreground (Quick Frank-type link*)

Better yet, just film it all with the main character noticeably absent from all the scenes.  Then have Mr Burdis appear after the end credits in his Judges rig, sporting a big 3A label.  "Hi, I'm from 3A.  Did I make it on time?"

...then have someone replace his body.

Who the hell is 'Morris'?

TheTooN

I wasnt sure if it was a nickname or a typo, I just copy/pasted it in case it was deliberate. Didnt want to cause offense by changing it.

Against my better judgment, I ordered one of these eagerly awaited 1/12 Dredd and Lawmaster combos from Big Bad Toys in the US.

I've loved 2000ad for many years but I never thought I'd buy one of these toys/figures/models...I blame the McMahon statues from Planet Replicas - who could resist a model based so closely on a classic McMahon image...That was the gateway drug model for me..

Anyway, I was wondering (sorry if this has been dealt with elsewhere), do these models attract import duty and or additional VAT payments?

I know comic art from the US is duty free and only attracts 5% vat.  Although the various carriers aren't always aware of this fact.

Anyone know what the position should be with these models? and, maybe more importantly what peoples actual experience has been..?

Planet Replica McMahon's were one of the things that got me into Dredd again after so long too !

I've never ordered from BBTS personally but I do buy from the US from time to time. Its hit and miss, sometimes a package will sneak through without customs having a sniff. More often than not the item is held at Fedex/Parcelforce and a ransom note comes first to make your day.

I did pay customs and handling for the McMahon vinyl from Unbox Industries. I did pay for the PCS Lawmaster statue (or at least I will when they replace the broken one). Anything bought from US Ebay usually gets nobbled too. If I have friends rebox in unbranded cardboard and reduce the value on the customs declaration it usually gets through without charge but not always. 3 out of 4 most recent buys have been hit. Only the reboxed one snuck through. (Mezco SDCC Dredd)

Whenever I buy outside the EU I assume it will get hit for 20% + 'handling fee'. If that makes the price unpalatable I'll try to find one nearer home.....usually I end up accepting it and paying my dues. If its a pre-order only available direct you dont get a choice.

Fingers crossed for ya mate !
