I'm gonna get my order in now just to make sure!
Only another 8 months to go :o
Yeah, I was alerted yo this last night by Omar (from Near Mint Condition):

Really nice to see Omar getting to announce a 2000 AD book. His channel is one of the very best and has some great reach. The more 2000 AD stuff he can cover, the better for getting the word out!
Omar is a top bloke and this, of course, looks incredible.
Good news:

Excellent! Not long to wait now!
I notice they have changed the cover to the classic Block Mania panel with Judge Giant as well :D
Really looking forward to this one.
If my Maths is right that's about half of Cry of the Werewolf?
Well, according to Funt's 2000AD in Stages (https://2kstages.github.io/AtoZ/JudgeDredd/1983.html), there are 48 pages and 3 covers spread over 7 parts. So, pretty close to half of that story.

I know I'm in the minority but I have a real soft spot for his work on Rogue Trooper

I love Dillon's art on RT. Cool little hover bike designs and mad, tusked aliens.
(Even the premise of The Hit storyline isn't entirely atrocious, but it being coupled with such a disjointed publishing schedule made it difficult to love. Nice that Cinnabar works better as a story.)
Who did the rogue trooper print? Pretty sure that's not Steve.

I wondered the same — it really doesn't look like his work. There's strong hint of Rufus about it, definitely in the hands.
It's a nice image. But it would be deeply weird for a limited print to not be art by the artist who the book is about.

Actually looks like your work PJ.
I think that's Carl Critchlow.
It was in the Dillon exhibition at Lawless

Can confirm: not me.

Fair play, then!
Yeah, I'd forgotten about it - but at the time now remember thinking it didn't look much like Steve's work - I don't know the story behind it, if it was a commission or him trying something new...
That only proves that someone thought it was Dillon's work and lent it to the exhibition. It doesn't look anything like Dillon's style at all, and I suspect it was there by mistake.
Aah, ignore me, I've just noticed his signature on it!
Curious that this book is a fiver cheaper than the McMahon one. I wonder why? Fewer pages? Shifts in materials costs?
My brain will of course now use this to justify buying a copy.

I wasn't going to but the Werewolf pages are making it more tempting. No news on Cinnabar or City of the Damned?

Never mind who did it, what's Rogue doing in that picture? I assume he's meant to be sitting on a pile of rocks, but it looks more like he's lowering himself onto it, or squatting over it. It looks like the picture was originally his head and torso within the Souther emblem, and then a decision was made to extend it, adding the (very far-apart) legs.
Anyone know why 'The 2000 AD Art of Steve Dillon Apex Edition' only appears to be for sale direct from 2000ad? The other artist editions were also available from Forbidden Planet and comic shops, but a Google search only shows it available direct. Well, it also shows OK comics, but they are 'out of stock'.
I mean, it's not out yet. Presumably when it is, more places will stock it.

I hope so. I'm only comparing pre-release availability to the previous volumes, as I pre-ordered most from Forbidden Planet six months in advance, but we're three and a half months out from release now and nobody else appears to be offering it for sale.
Certainly one I hope to pick up :)
Glad I waited. Now available from Forbidden Planet at £65.

Gah. I mean, it'd be rude not to at that price. Shame they don't have the McMahon one on for a bit of an offer as well. (I got the previous one 50% off at FP in London!)
