It's just occurred to me that whenever someone on the telly or on a film has a bit of a cough, it's never a cold, is it?  It's an undiagnosed illness that will kill them, as sure as night follows day.  I'm watching House of the Dragons and someone is coughing, see.  I'll be sorry to see them go.

Fair point - I suppose tory-lite at this stage of the game is anything left of Vlad the Impaler.

Ah please TJM, talk to someone, drop a DM if you're not comfortable putting it out in a public platform.

Absolutely - please be safe, TJM, and as the man says, send a DM if you want.

An absolute pounding (sorry) for the Tories in the polls.  I doubt a British PM has ever had a worse start.  Looks like the next general election will deliver you a leader who actually gives a fuck about you.

Yep, and don't forget that Wulf's a Great Dane.

With a German accent, but we won't worry about that.

Indigo Prime. But only for the first few series, not the modern one.

What he said. Indigo Prime.  Or Void Indigo as it used to be.

I think the Meg worked better than the prog actually. The prog's stories had nothing to do with each other really. The Meg, while it's still an anthology of different stories, held together as a coherent whole storyline.

The whole thing worked much better than the attempt to do something similar in last year's Sci-Fi Special.

I thought the same - really enjoyed the way each story flowed to the next, with Niemand's alt-Dredd strips being the star of the show.  Just horrific and brilliant.  Devlin Waugh's story was a bit slight - he didn't really have a whole lot to do but tell the heroes which way to go, like a random character in a Fighting Fantasy book.  I'm not quite sold on Steve Yeowell's Armitage or Johnny Alpha, but it was a nice little interlude.

The ending of the whole show was great (though isn't the whole multiverse infected with the zombies, rather than just one planet in one universe?).

Turns out poor old Syd was one of the more sensible members of the band.

there has only been one story in ingerland town these last 12 days.
but it wasn't even a story.
the war in ukraine has been woefully under reported for a decade. and so here we are now. ditto belarus, hungary, poland, the fear in the baltics, the new terror in the balkans.
all just a day or so of a drive away.
ignorance is the mind killer, at the very least.

I get you now. We haven't been quite as swamped with dead monarch news over this way.

putin mobilising 300,000 reservists and threatening nukes?
that's strange - the bbc had me thinking there that this all finished 12 days ago ...
och well.

Can't say I agree - the only news I heard said that Ukraine had made significant gains. Nobody I listened to, including the BBC, gave me even the slightest feeling that this was anywhere near over.

No, it was published in 1984. Warlock etc was in 1982.

Ah, ok, thanks - was never sure about that.  I'd assumed the fact that it was just called 'Fighting Fantasy' meant it was the first one.  The next of its (multi-player) type was, I think, The Riddling Reaver, which I loved but again never actually played as it was meant to be played.

I am now old enough that I have completely forgotten parts of my early career.

But I bet you'll always remember Tharg the Yuppie...
