What is this about?

As we all know Rebellion has been the owner of 2000 AD since the beginning of the century. They have kept the publication running and maintained for the last two decades.  We have been blessed with some great stories brought to use by some ridiculously awesome talent.  Another fact that I am greatfull for is that during the current world crisis Rebellion kept on delivering the weekly thrills.

The premise is that you select your top 10 series that was published during the Rebellion Years.

When do we start?

Currently Colin is running a great tourney around the ultimate writers. If you do know about this and you have been hiding under a rock or have been holidaying in the resorts of Alpha Centauri just follow the link: https://forums.2000ad.com/index.php?topic=46503.msg1029915#msg1029915

As soon as ultimate tourney is done I will kick-off the top 10 rebellion one.

For how long?

I am open to suggestions, but I was thinking around 2 – 3 weeks to allow you to cast your votes.

How does it work?

1. You select your top 10 series during the Rebellion Years. This is from Prog 1174 publish on 5 January 2000 up until prog 2185 publish on 10 June 2020.
2. The only series not included is Judge Dredd. You can cast you vote for any Dredd-verse series, but our favourite lawman has an unfair advantage.
3. The shorts are all clubbed together so you do not vote for a single Future Shock or Terror Tale but for the whole shebang. The shorts published are: Twisted Tales, Time Twisters, Tharg's Thrillers, Terror Tales, Future Shocks (TFC), Pulp Sci-Fi and Past Imperfect.
4. We are working on a point system that follows the Formula 1 Point System: Points are awarded to drivers and teams based on where they finish in a race. The winner receives 25 points, the second-place finisher 18 points, with 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 and 1 points for positions 3 through 10. So quite simple only 10 series will be allocated points, but nothing stops you from listing your top 79 series.

Some additional Info:

I will list all the series below which was publish during the above period. If I have missed one you are free to vote for them as long as the series ran during the above mention period.

I will keep track via an excel sheet and everyone is welcome to this just PM me.

I still believe that Grant does not always gets the recognition that he deserves. One of his biggest "problems" is his association with Wagner. Many of the stories he co-wrote with Wagner I will give credit to Wagner and not him at all.
#4762
Alan Who ? Which Alan ? Grant

I will go for Alan Grant purely of his contribution to AD and naturally for his work on Strontium Dog and Anderson.
#4763
Alan McKenzie only because off Summer Magic

Tordel then Colin should have excluded Alan Grant as well. It feels to me that he is always under valued compared to John Wagner.  He had a massive contribution to many of the best stories ever to be published in AD.

To be honest based it on the previous competition - if you do ruole out too many it gets a bit pointless. I personally didn't think Pat was a forgone conclusion. To be honest I can think of at least three votes I'd vote for over him and I'm sure others will have favourites too.

He's amongst the favourites but let's see how that plays out...

I agree with you for me Mills is not a foregone conclusion.

I am also a non-footballer, I do not like the sport. But let us be honest the special was great, I enjoyed it and will recommend it to anyone.

Quote from: SmallBlueThing(Reborn) on 10 June, 2020, 10:58:18 AMIf, after securing work for all the companies and organisations he seems to juggle, he was guilty of not giving 2000AD his full attention and just phoning it in, I'd even understand. But he never, ever does.
This. When Abnett broke in the US, I figured that would be it. So many other writers vanish from the Prog, even though they are contractually allowed to still contribute. Abnett is a machine.

He has another series starting in prog 2187 The Out. He is more than a machine
