Following the shock reappearance this week of [redacted] in [redacted], which other characters from 2000 AD's past should make a shock reappearance in current stories?
I'd quite like to see Rick Random make a shock appearance in Skip Tracer.
Bonjo in Grey Area.
T-Bone in Skip Tracer.
I haven't read this weeks prog yet (being a digital it has only been released today) but I would like to see Ampney Crucis return to the prog. I wasn't a reader when he was in it but I picked up the collection duringa visit to London and thought it was superb.
By the way anyone avoiding spoiler avoid the Thrillmail until you've read this weeks Prog!
Anyway I know tongues are firmly in cheeks here BUT I always seriously liked the idea of some sort of Edginton-verse crossover set in The Library.
Whizzbang, we're talking about crossovers, not just characters we want to see again.
E.g. "I'd like to see Ampney Crucid show up in Absalom."
Nemesis in anything maybe in Defoe
Tyranny Rex in Indigo Prime. Though Smith once cryptically told me on facebook that she was in fact on page one of the most recent series just before he was replaced by Kek-W.
Which just raised a whole bunch of questions.
Brigand Doom in Dredd
Nemesis/Shakara team-up
Luke Kirby in Absolom
The Corp's space marine Tarantino in Lawless
Shadows' Nina Coltrane in Brink
Former Judge Barry Kurten* in The Returners
* and Mo

Huh... what... that does sound interesting. Mind does it count as a cross over as she's always had Indigo Prime connections.
It'll never happen now, but...
Armoured Gideon
in ABC Warriors
ooh. Luke Kirby in Absalom is a good shout.
Devlin Waugh in Cabblastics
The Mean Team in The Mean Arena

I think Mean Team and Meltdown Man may make a better match.
Or Dead Meat and Meltdown Man for that matter - all those yujees must have come from somewhere...
Still not sure what I'd match Nemesis up with - maybe the far future Durham Red?
canon fodder in anything....go on kek w put him in fall of deadworld i triple dare ya

A catholic priest from an early 1990s story who looks like they hit the gym often and is very conversant with various weaponry? Canon Fodder teams up with Devlyn Waugh!
oh fuck thats good
Freely in Lawless.

...But it's the Elfric thrust that really drives them insane.
Hitman and Bear from Gibbons era Dan Dare in an episode of Sinister Dexter as rival/fellow kill team. If Dave Gibbons agreed to draw it, well I'd kiss a skunk.
Dan Dare and ACE Trucking
The Bad Man from Armageddon in Strontium Dog
Dandridge in Absalom.
P45 in Insurrection.
Mary in Aquila.
Defoe meets Shaun of the Dead
Luke Kirby & Wolfie Smith v Hauptmann Costanza (Fiends of the Eastern Front)
Diceman in Hope For the Future.
Tempest in Dredd or any of the satellite strips.
FINN!!!!!!

With 'Pilot' Polanski as the getaway driver!
I'll just leave this here before scuttling off again...
Big Dave in Sinister Brexter

City of the Damned Vamp Hershey vs Devlin Waugh and/or Durham Rad.
Dash Decent in just about anything.
Harry 20 in Skip Tracer. Although I guess after all the time that's passed he'd probably have to look like Ben 90.
I have to say, Skip Tracer was so bland I thought it had to be one of those 'surprise, it's really an Indigo Prime story!' strips. So for Tharg to sneak Armoured Gideon into the Order was double tricksy.
The stainless steel rat in strontium dog.
Swifty in Max Normal.

So true. When the Yugee-alikes showed up in Skip Tracer, I was sure there was going to be a dimension hopping crossover with everyone's favourite SAS hippy.
Actually, Harry 20 in Brink could be cool.

Considering the current climate now's the perfect time to bring back Big Dave.

True - he'd sort the EU out into giving us a good deal.
Slippery Jim Di Griz vs Judge Dredd.
Go on. Mike Carroll. You know you want to.
There was a version of Slippery Jim in Dante, or at least Nikolai references being trained by a 'DiGrizov'.

I'd pay money to see that. Sadly, though, bigoted boors like Dave are being venerated and elected these days, and I can imagine a certain type of person reading it as an irony-free political manifesto.
As for Dante, the strip always absorbed versions of old characters. I wasn't quite on board with the strip when the PC Sláine and gay Sinister Dexter appeared, and I must say I didn't like it - for me, Dante was a far less established and enjoyable story and was messing about with its elders and betters. Never thought I'd grow to love Dante, but I did.
I'd like to that time Sinister and Dexter arrived in MC1 again, but in the Dredd strip, from the opposite POV.

I'll draw it! Finally something my artistic talents are equal to! Here's my rough-out for that great crawling-through-hell splash (it'll look better with some lettering):

Oh, you meant Judge Drokk, didn't you? :(
Max from 'The Thirteenth Floor' shows up causing a fuss in Dredd's world. Eventually you find out Max has taken over Walter the Wobots body. Both have tv screen faces so I think that could be fun.
I'm still new to 2000AD so I don't know if Walter is still around or not.
That's pretty brilliant, Lupianwolf! Great first post, welcome.
Walter is indeed still active, currently in the service of Mrs Gunderson, Judge Death's doddery-but-indestructible former landlady.

Bek & Kawl in Survival Geeks
It's like you've discovered a secret formula for what would be my least favourite story of all time.
(Actually, that's a bit harsh on Survival Geeks - it's very far from being the sort of thing I want to read, but I don't actively hate it or anything. It's just not for me. Bec and Kawl, on the other hand...)
I was rereading the Stainless Steel Rat by the great Carlos, I would like mister diGriz to grace the pages of the prog again.
