Bit of El Bigote by the hamfisted SKD and brilliantly crayon'd in by myself

Fixed that for you. :D

Wonderful work there CFM, really smart. I couldn't see the image here on the forum (just a little box with a red cross in it.) Anybody else having the same problem, head over to https://www.facebook.com/elbigotecomic to see Crazy Foxes cracking colours. As well as stunning art from El Chivo there is also fantastic work by Shaky Kane, Jim Campbell, Matt Soffe, Bolt 01, Grant Perkins, Sparkonaut, Chris Askham, SuperSurfer and many others. There's also a chap calling himself Locust and some more of my 'hamfisted' offerings too.

Shameless plugger Stew. ;)

Film & TV / Re: Name your Doctor
04 August, 2013, 05:24:31 PM
There have been several adverts on BBC radio today, for tonights 'Who's Who' show, in which the announcer tells us that they will "name him... or her!" Maybe they've given the job to Eric Idle in his Stan/Loretta persona from Life of Brian. :D

Whoever it is, we can be sure of a few things... Half the people will be hailing Steven Moffat a god, the other will be burning his effigy. And the internet will probably melt down and send us back to the dark ages. ;)

McMahon by a mile...  ...There is no page, panel, or scratchy ink line in the whole of 'Sky Chariots' that I wouldn't point to as comic book perfection.

Cheers

Games / Re: Mad Max anyone?
22 July, 2013, 06:33:23 PM
My memory is a bit hazy now, but didn't they overdub the first Mad Max film with American actors voices for the U.S. release? Ah, our American cousins. :D I had read about the continental shift for the game, like you Radbacker, i'm pleased they've moved it back to it's natural home in Oz.

As for the game. Looking at the trailer, it doesn't seem to be based on any of the films (old or new) It is simply using the character of Max Rockatansky and the enviroment/world where the movies are set. I think they are telling a new story, possibly set between Mad Max 1 & 2, as in the preview he is wearing the leg calliper and still has the V8 Interceptor.

Film Discussion / Re: Dredd articles in magazines

RadioTimes has a short 4 star review for Dredd's Sky Premiere outing, calling it an "explosive comic book adaptation..." and stating that "It's a more faithful take on the character..." There is also a little pic of Dredd and Anderson. RT online has a much bigger picture and a longer, very positive review.

SKD, why were you painting swastikas on a mosque? (I didn't read the article, I'll grant you)

I'm not sure how to react to this...

...But to attempt to prevent any more confusion. I'm applying a graffiti removal solution, which after fifteen minutes my workmate was able to jet wash away the odious material. We were called in as soon as the police forensic team had finished their work, to clear away all traces of the graffiti to prevent any further offence to the local community.

Well, in keeping with the "I'm in the paper" and the graffiti part of this thread... If you scroll down to two blokes standing in front of a swastika, I'm the balding one on the left of the picture. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2348817/Swastika-racist-graffiti-saying-EDL-KKK-NF-daubed-windows-walls-mosque-built.html
The usual guy was on holiday and our supervisor wanted someone who would be professional, skilled and knowledgeable. In the end he had to settle for me and my workmate as we were the closest. :D

I was looking for it on the schedule today, and it's not on!

A bit of online investigation later and I found this:

In a nutshell,  supposedly due to poor ratings they're moving it to 10 on 5*. An earlier slot but hardly a more popular channel, surely? Apparently they're repeating it Tuesdays on 5 at midnight.

Ho hum. I hope FX doesn't end up the sole channel to show it in the UK. I don't get that one.

Turned to 5 to watch tonights episode at 11.00 to find Big
Shittin'
Brother's
Arse wipe
on instead. >:( I knew if I looked on the forum that one of the 'Great and the Good' would be clued in as to what had happened, cheers Mardroid. So Channel 5 decided that after one episode to shift it to the back of beyond, It's nice to see they have so much faith in their programming.

As me'n'Ian are both West Midlands lads, and we both used to go there a lot as kids, we thought it'd be a cheeky in-joke to use Dudley Zoo-- a lot of the architecture I've drawn is based on the place but obviously scaled up for Mega City One.

Nice one Mike. I knew Ian was from around these parts, but I didn't realise that you where too. I had a big grin on my face when I turned the page and saw that familiar entrance. I recognised the curved section from the old bear enclosure too. Considering that the zoo was designed and built in the 1930's, it sits very well in the future setting of Mega city One.
