Once again, many thanks for your kind words and comparisons - they're great for my ego, but possibly insulting for the real art droids.  As taking a photo of Judicial Procedure is a crime, I'm withdrawing the piece from the vote.  Seems a tad unfair I set my own brief for this one!

Is this guy working on the movie?
Not Guilty - if you know anyone who is, feel free to pass this on!!

Wow :o, but was that really created just for this competition?
Guilty - clearly I have too much time on my hands...

I'm NOT a comic pro, I work as a Graphic Designer and this is very much my Hobby.  I would love to do it for a living, but that ain't up to me...

Agreed - lets get this party started!
There are a hundred ways to approach this and I am VERY confident there is a winner out there.

P.S. LOVE the idea Of POSTCARDS from MEGA-CITY ONE, colour me interested...

Wow - Many, MANY thanks to all who voted, and thank you for making me feel so welcome.  I hope whatever I come up with for the next comp. will be equally enjoyed!

Harder to choose than I thought - really great entries all round!

1. CraveNoir - GREAT lighting on Dredd.
2. Iamthesystem (1) - Like a 'snapshot', lovely angle.
3. Mike Carroll (1) - Iconic stuff!

I know its against the rules...

HM.  Pete Wells (very funny), Wooly (great style) and Dave Thomson (cool vibe).

Does this mean I've voided my vote..!?

JT pegg, yours is very good indeed (although of course fucking shite next to Button's).  are you called after the sadly deceased Oink artist JT Dogg?

Call me JT... ;)

Hope the link helps:

Hmmm... I'll have a think about it.

Do you have any idea how difficult it was for me to simply upload a picture to you all and now, suddenly, I'm Bill drokkin' Gates !? :)
#99
Nope - I'm involved in a project at the moment, so the only stuff I have, is around that.  I don't really hold onto my pics, I like to think of it as disposable!

However, I'm happy to mail things out from time to time (not necessarily Dredd/2000 stuff and so may not be suitable for this forum) - so if you want to see some different stuff, drop me a line with contact details and I'll create a mailing list.

Anyway, back to the competition...:)
Really enjoying all the entries I've seen - KEEP 'EM COMING, CITIZENS!!

Right here - I hope to be submitting as regularly as I can...

Can I ask a quick question?? How many layers in PS did you use to create such a top piece of artwork??

In the posted piece it was about 3 (fore, mid and backgrounds) and then maybe a couple for tweaking the overall (like a texture layer).  I tend, when drawing at least, to have a main layer, I will then add another layer and work on that (adding to the main), before collapsing down.  The 'logic' being that it's great to work with a safety-net, but at some point you have to say, 'DROKK IT', it's about being 'decisive'!! Grrr...!

Layers are great, but for real help, try flipping your canvas horizontally and working on it like that for a while (if you pefer pen and paper, use a mirror and get some distance) and that will give you a hell of a lot more!

Once again, many thanks for the great feedback.  I will certainly take on-board all suggestions.  If any of you would like a 72dpi version of the A3 original, help yourselves:

New to forums (so hope I've done this right), but had to have a crack at the comp.
