Lettering software

Hi guys.

Can anyone recommend any reasonable FREE software to do lettering. It doesn't have to be all bells n whistles,it is just to put something together for a bit of fun (if it becomes more than a bit of fun then I might look at other options).

This is to put captions & speech in to a photo-story.

I don't know about free, but for a small amount you could use Strip Design for the iPad maybe, if you have an iPad that is. It seems fairly versatile and user friendly. I threw this together in just a couple of minutes:

Ah good point, I should have said what platforms I have...

Windows or Android (got a pretty decent Android Pad)... I was thinking PC... I will lookin the Android Store in a few (off to get groceries...)
