You're welcome, BSC!  6th November is much sooner than having to wait until 25th December!

Grandville Noel is out in November! Click!

With his trusty adjunct, Detective Sergeant Ratzi, away for Christmas, there's no holiday for Detective Inspector LeBrock of Scotland Yard as he embarks on an investigation into the disappearance of his housekeeper's niece, Bunty Spall. The trail leads to a growing religious cult, where a charismatic unicorn messiah and his con men cronies, already responsible for mass murder in the United States, are about to lead a crusade for the ethnic cleansing of the French Empire's doughfaces - the derogatory nickname for humans used by the majority, animal-headed population. Teaming up with Chance Lucas, a gun-slinging operative of the Pinkerton Detective Agency, and reigniting his steamy love affair with the voluptuous Parisian badger prostitute Billie, LeBrock clashes with both cult fanatics and doughface terrorists, uncovering in the process a centuries-old religious conspiracy that threatens to plunge the world into bloody civil war.

According to FB their will be at least a dozen new Dark Judges. Why is the necessary?

I think IDW saw this headline and took it as a challenge.

Karl is doing a TON of cons in the US, people could definitely arrange for some more readings :)

Great!  Now, who wants to try for "Um, synthi sausage?"

General / Re: Dredd's suit: Onesy or two-piece?
11 February, 2014, 08:46:57 PM
It's got to be a two piece because the practicalities of going to the toilet become nightmarish if you have not just a belt in the way, but a badge chain only seven links long fighting you to get that zipper down past your crotch.  If you need a sit down visit, you've either got to suppose a rear flap or that they shrug off the whole top part (pads and all) to get the pants section down.

Of course given how long the Judges are on patrol they probably have some wee absorption system.  We never see any loos at the watchbays.

And of course, if they are two pieces, they do manage to get those two zips amazingly well lined up.  That's discipline!

Kudos to Karl!  What a great sport.  I love that he just went with it and didn't say "oh that's just some job I did in the past."

And thank you mimikeke for thinking of it, and for actually doing it.  Are you just reading Dredd through trades, or have you got hold of some old progs?  Have you read any other 2000AD stories?

What we need now is a list of Dredd bits we want Karl to read, a roster of who has to get what and a list of Karl's future appearances.  We'll have the audio Case Files done in no time.

I love it when a plan comes together!

Gordon & Gotch distributed the UK weeklies to the colonies Down Under. Are our Antipodean terrors eligible for inclusion or, just like those cover-mounted free gifts of Hubba Bubba, will this be "unavailable to overseas readers?"

The unavailable gifts were our terrors, Stevie!  I still have nightmares about issue 1 of Nutty and the missing packet of Space Dust.  <sobs uncontrollably>

I grew up on the IPC/Fleetway comics so my tastes run more to the humorous and adventurous.  I never got into DC or Marvel.  I'd much rather read Sweeny Toddler, Calvin & Hobbes or a Donald Duck story by Carl Barks than, say, Spiderman.

Of course, I now know from reading this thread that the problem with comics like Sweeny Toddler and Donald Duck is that no one advances, everyone remains the same.  Sweeny still lives with his dopey mum and dad at the end of the strip, Henry the dog still dreams of bones, etc!  What was I thinking? ; D

Apart from the 2000AD trades, I've also enjoyed reading the Grandville series and "Mezolith" (a DFC Library title) and hope there will be more of these.

I was wondering when you were going to post a picture of Judge Paxis!

Interestingly for a Judge, "Paxis" is actually his first name.  His surname is "Ownlunchbox".

Good spotting - though I thought you meant the images rather than the text.

You do all realise these aren't necessarily the final covers?

Of the lot I posted yesterday, only Fallout and the Mek Files are marked as "Not Final Cover" in the Rebellion 2014 catalogue, so we can take Case Files 23, Anderson 4, Rogue 4, Return to Armageddon, and Aliens vs Dredd vs Predator as final.

Incubus and other stories? Not just vs. Predator then? But what could it be? Colour me curious....

I assume Jock & Bolland are listed because of a covers gallery, but what's the red writing to the right of Jock's credit?  "And more"?  "And Zocko"?  "And 2000AD"?
