The design appeared at the Zarjaz! exhibition in 2005:

And the toy has been floating around since 2008 when some pricing was revealed (although they will not be the current pricing but there might be something we can all afford - I'm getting one, probably the small variety):

TADO Death Plush will come in 2 sizes:
- SMALL @ approx 8-inches with a SRP of £12.99 (tentative June-2008 drop)
- LARGE @ approx 20-inches with a SRP of £44.99 (tentative September-2008 release)
- if the response is good, there may well be a Special Edition!

What happened to the wooden looking one? Or is the orange one what the wooden one ended up looking like?

I'll see if I can find out about the plain brown wood-effect one and report back (travelling now, so might take a day or two).  Would be a shame if the orange one is a replacement / colour tweak, but they're still great.

Given that these are probably made in pretty limited quantities, I'm surprised we didn't get an official heads up - they're bound to be popular, after all.  I'd completely forgotten about them until someone pointed out to me that they'd just gone on sale.

I asked Pete Fowler about it and he's sure that the original brown Nemesis is still on the cards (and he referred to it as the regular colour).

Good to hear, Dunk!  The link I provided above mentioned these were about 15cm high - is that accurate?
