2000AD Online

The Judge Dredd Megazine, the award winning sister title to 2000 AD, is leading the way in superior sci-fi and fantasy entertainment with a complete revamp starting from Meg 224, designed to maintain its lead within the monthly comic book market.

Being perfect bound, 100 pages and a myriad of original comic content, interviews and reviews of all aspects of the Sci-fi/fantasy genre, the Megazine is set to be the premiere Sci-fi/fantasy lifestyle comic in the market.

In addition to a raft of original storylines by the UK?s most respected comic talent, the exciting development is the launch the ?Heatseeker? review columns. Guest writers are on-board deciding ?what?s hot and what?s not? in the world of sci-fi/fantasy. From Sci-fi/Cult cinema and TV, to Anime and Hong Kong movies, Graphic Novels to Computer games, the Megazine promises to provide its own ?unique? opinions on the genres!

But also ?The Megazine Interrogation? will be introduced. Author David Bishops presents in-depth interviews with the all-time greats of the UK comics industry, with Arthur Ranson the first to face the bright lights!

Jason Kingsley, Co-Publisher of 2000 AD and the Megazine said, ?The Megazine has always had an distinctive tone, and from what we?ve seen with huge successes within the sci-fi/fantasy market and the feedback of our readers, we can offer valued insight and opinions which is why we?ve developed extra content most importantly ?Heatseekers? and ?The Megazine Interrogation?.

?We want to appeal to a larger audience that may not have considered reading a monthly comic before, but would be interested in our take on the current sci-fi entertainment out there as we?re a recognized authority on the genre?.

Jason concludes, ?We?ve enjoyed enormous success with the Megazine so far, and with our new content and especially additional stories, we hope to secure our lead and ?blow your mind!??

Meg 224 is on sale from 22nd September 2004.

Sounds good - especially happy about the Bishop interviews.

Be careful not to spill over into too much territory already covered by Previews, CI and SFX though. Steer a steady ship, Mr Barnes, and we'll keep a' buying.

As for the line-up: Hmmm, starting off the relaunch with a John Burns story? I love his work, don't get me wrong, but perhaps someone a bit flashier to kick things off? His stuff can sometimes be quite drab, which can be good, but maybe not for a big relaunch.
Glad to see The Simping Detective is sticking around, but have to say not looking forward to Young Middenface as that and Black Shitta are the only Meg strips I find dull as dishwater.

Ho hum, back to work ...
+++ implementing rigid format protocols +++ meander mode engaged +++

All sounds good- but it'll probably cost a tenner here now?( in ireland)

Hurrah!

SFX covers Smallville so if the Meg avoids that,it's safe.

But yeah,sounds promisisng.

To tell the truth, you can all get screwed.

davidbishop

The first Interrogation is  John Burns, not Arthur Ranson.

Dan Kelly

SOunds good, if a little like Deadline.  WIth a Dredd focus.  Which may not be a bad thing.

Wahey, I forgot it was upping the new stories & I like the look of that cover.

Once again Wahey!
Hmm, just pretend I wrote something witty eh?

The Amstor Computer

Not *entirely* convinced that Heatseeker is a great idea, but I'm happy to be proved wrong. Apart from that, the line-up sounds ace, and it'll be nice to see some longer interviews...

Perfect bound?  heh another format change.  Why don't they change the numbering to numerals or volume five just to drive us all crazy?

IndigoPrime

Perfect bound? I guess sales must have increased again!

The Amstor Computer

Wasn't Volume 4 pre-number change perfect-bound? Or was that square-bound?

Heatseeker and the Bishop interviews both sound good. No more bile duct? I was quite enjoying that.

Oh well, you can`t have everything. Where would you put it? (to quote Steven Wright)
