Brace yourselves! It's going to be a dense few days for 2000ad and Judge Dredd news, beginning with...
DREDD is screened tonight at 10pm pacific (they're 8 hours behind), so a flood of reactions should greet us tomorrow morning.
On Friday
Judge Dredd 35th Anniversary— It's an exciting year for Judge Dredd-not only does he turn 35 but he has a big-budget film coming, a brand-new IDW series launching, and more. IDW's Chris Ryall, Dredd film concept artist Jock, 2000 AD's Matt Smith and Ben Smith, and some very special guests join moderator Douglas Wolk to announce the creative team of IDW's series, talk about the return of the Dark Judges, and much more.
IDW's Judge Dredd comic begins in November. The panel will also have Karl Urban and "maybe" Olivia Thirlby. (Lena Headey cancelled her Game of Thrones appearance for the same afternoon either to make it to this panel or cos she can't get there at all.

I had a whip through and the 2000ad stuff starts around the 29 minute mark.
There might be three Judges there as well, including an Anderson.

Is that... Brad Bird?
Also - Anderson's got her zip down *sigh* YOU'VE WON THIS ROUND, CURRIE!
Dredd is Jared Butler, who's also doing Dredd's voice for Minty.
They're handing out 'citations' to anyone taking photos so they can more easily track down the pics...
Not just Anderson...

Telekinesis across the internet, in one case, the weight of the chain in the other.
Molch-R's just relieved he's not been asked to be Anderson this year.
First pic in The Grauniad's Comic-Con coverage is of Dredd and Anderson :)

Nice one, in front of the 2000AD stand as well.

Another Grauniad mention in the article linked below, including a quote from Molcher:
Other heroes, super or otherwise, are scrambling for attention. The British makers of Judge Dredd, based on the 2000 AD character, hope a Pete Travis-directed film which premiered on Wednesday night will woo back fans alienated by a 1995 Sylvester Stallone version of the futuristic law-enforcer. "Hardcore fans have spent 35 years reading the character and they want to see it done right," said Mike Molcher, a publicist for the film. "We think this version really nails it."

Heh, now just add vinegar, a la Judge Slocum.
:)
That Kenner box was a great idea.
I wonder if anyone has done a Vader costume that looks like the original figure (a bit rubbish, rigid cape, weird telescopic looking lightsaber)
I'm not really a blonde guy*, but that Anderson is incredibly cute.
*As in I particularly like dark haired women, rather than a description of my own hair colour. Although I'm not blonde. (As a nipper, I used to be.)
Was there any news from SDCC about this comic, or just IDW's comics?
"San Diego Comic-Con 2012 will be truly Dredd-ful this year as we celebrate the impending release of DREDD 3D in September... plus unveiling some exciting swen about 2000 AD's future"
No news. Not that I found anyway.
I love a bit of exciting swen ;)
Drat! Missed that! :) I employ a language filter to make the web a more interesting and surreal place.
Arsom swen.
I forgot to post this ages ago - my daughter, Audrey, has become quite a fan of comic books and has been enjoying the early 2000ADs I let her read. She spotted Judges Dredd and Anderson at the San Diego Comic Con, and wanted a picture with them...
Locust, didn't you warn her about the palm prints?!! :o

Worse than that, Dredd just handed his lawgiver right over when she asked to hold it!
I think he may have been mesmerised by Anderson's big ..er...eyes.
