Title: Ian Gibson Commissions
Post by: +rufus+ on 02 June, 2008, 08:02:29 AM
Hi Guys,

Anyone wanting an Ian Gibson commission should contact the estemed art droid, as he is available for private commissions.

He had a list of people waiting, but in his last move. lost the list in a digital hiccup!

Ian can be contacted through this very site, on the bottom of his page...

Let the ThrillPower commence!

Can certainly vouch for that - had a natter with him at a Dreddcon about how i'd like him to do a pressie for my wife of Emma Peel and Sydney from "Alias", as she's a fan of both spygirlies, we roughed it out there plus a few emails to finalise and had it by Christmas:

Thanks for the heads up, Rufus - unfortunately I've just bought a camcorder so funds are a bit tight at the moment.

I did ask Ian about a Howard Quartz/Miss Marilyn commission last year, but he was busy at the time.

I'd love to see his take on stuff that he hasn't done before, like Ro-busters.

I've been half-thinking about commissioning a picture of Dredd examining Sam Slade's robo-hunting licence. Either that or the pair of them taking out some of the remaining rebel robots in the aftermath of the robot war.

"You and your timelines :) How about Sam versus the ABC Warriors?"

As soon as I can figure out exactly where they fit...

And seriously, can there really be any true 2000AD fan who wouldn't like to see a Hoagy and Ro-Jaws team-up written by Wagner and Grant?

Regards

Robin

Heh - how about Sam's head in a jar and General Blood N Nuts?

Terra-Meks vs Teeny-Meks?

Where's that scratchcard?

Can't recommend Ian's work enough....

If you need to save up to get it, its worth it as it could take a while to come through... ;-)

If you need any pics of recent ones, ask Pete Wells as I think he may have been Ian's last one.

Great colours, oh and tits!!!!! ;-)))))

I'll get my coat.......

It's all gorgeous and I urge everyone who's not skint due to expensive holidays (bah!) to buy one.

I'm going to try to get the cash together later in the year.

I gues I should have asked here first before bugging Mr. Gibson. But what does he usually charge for them? I've contacted other droids or have been contacted by them and the going rate is $100 - $140 USD. BUt I'd like to extend thanks to Simon Fraser, Adrian Bamforth, and John Charles, for taking the time to contact me.

Hi,

from an e-mail last year he said it was about £100 for a A3 pencil sketch, about £200-250 for A3 B/W

£300-350 for an A3 painted colour piece

£500 upwards for A2 and above.

Price might vary depending on whether it's of characters he's done before, or if it's of family/friends or requiring research.

Not sure if this pricing still holds, but hope that helps.

This is the sort of information that would be very useful up on this site somewhere.
I know I'd like some artwork from different artists and knowing costs would be wonderful!
