Hello Tharglets!
I'm a little leery of posting this here, as I'm not sure exactly how appropriate it is to use this sub forum as an airing ground for personal projects. That said, I've poured a LOT of work into this project since I started it, and I'm pretty keen that it gets seen, and people at least know it exits.
On October 1st I'll be launching what amounts to my first major comics work as both writer and artist. Broken Goddess Athena (for that, dear friends, is what it is entitled) is my attempt to make the kind of comic I want to read. I'll not say TOO much about it, because I want the actual story to come as something of a surprise to any readers who are charitable enough to give it their time. Suffice to say, its a space opera.
I've been posting promo images around the web recently in hopes of drumming up some interest. Here's one that hopefully gives you a glimpse of it at its most action-tacular:

The plan at the moment is to release a page per week in black and white. If all goes well, a colour print edition will follow later.

I've had a few unwelcome surprises with my original Wordpress template of choice, but after getting my hands dirty, it's all fixed now. We should be good and glitch free for the next update.

I'm still tweaking and noodling in Wordpress as I go, so I may well have some new features installed by the time we're a few pages in. If it's supported, I may well include an option to get automatic updates via email.
I should also be up front about the fact that this was always intended to be in colour. Sadly (for now, at least) I've been unable to commit either time or finances to it (would have LOVED to hire either Josh Burcham or Kris Carter to handle the interiors, but it's just not feasible cost-wise.)

And I've just noticed that I've posted the wrong version of the page, as well as last week's page having non-uniform black levels. Woo. I am SO careful about this stuff. Obviously. Ah well, I'll fix 'em in due course.
A couple of mildly exciting developments:
ONE: LETTERS PAGE! Yes - I've decided that, after chapter one is finished, I'll be putting the comic on a one month hiatus so I can make a head start on chapter 2. During that time, I'm going to keep the page active with some additional content.
So... I'm sounding the call for letters. Feel free to post me your meanderings if ou're so inclined. I'll put details up on the Facebook page in due course. You can find it here:

Broken Goddess Athena was always intended for print. I'm not entirely happy with how the comic is represented in black and white on the main page, and it isn't indicative of the quality of the physical artwork, in my opinion. So I've punted things forward to see if I can make this happen in 2015.

I've set up an email address to use as a mailbox for the leters page I mentioned a while back. So, if you haveany missives, you can mail them to bgamailbox@gmail. Please mark all emails with the subject header LETTERS TO BGA.
Letters will be published on the site during the one month hiatus after chapter 1 has wrapped up, and may appear in other editions of the book a way down the line.
And if you want to send booze and wads of money, that's cool too.

Introducing one of several prominent female characters here. You've had a glimpse of her already, but she gets to do (or rather, say) a lot more over the next few pages.
Incidentally, it's getting a bit tough to gauge how much of an audience I have for the comic at the moment. Page views are yo-yo-ing up and down between updates. Page 15 got the highest number since launch day, but page 16's were down to barely 50.
So, if you're digging what I'm doing, please do like and share the Facebook page, sign up to follow the Wordpress page and send in your letters! (Although, make 'em printable, please - I hate censoring folks, and the one letter I've had devolves quickly into comments about women's underwear. Which is... uh... yeah.) :-\

The comic is going on hiatus until June. My current workload is just so heavy that I need to blitz a lot of stuff before I can focus on getting new pages drawn. But it's definitely not going away!
