Jesus Christ, first Caron Keating and now this. Being a Blue Peter presenter must be an emotional landfield...

(Apologies if this seems tasteless)

'old age' right... we all know the rats got 'im

They're going to bury him tomorrow after parading his carcass through the streets of London, verrry sloooowly so all the proles can get a final gawk at his shelled majesty. A dark time for England, nation morns, candle in the wind, the queen makes broadcast, small children weeping, huddled masses, Paul McCartney makes record, Tony Blair grins maniacally, our boys, jumpers for goalposts, add own cliche here, blah blah, etc, etc.

VampiraJen

i've never heard of hus, but god rest his turtle-y soul.......

Hmmm, I wondered why I found a frozen meat pie in the cardboard box when I opened it.

I read about the special 'tortoise memorial' episode of BP too.

Good lord.  What's the world coming to?

No wonder the Volgans conquered us in 8 hours...

It's good to see one of the few remaining decent eductational kids programmes still has producers prepared to treat a long-serving tortoise's death with the dignity and respect he deserved.

I heard Janet Ellis on Vine today - not without a bit of good humour, but also with a genuine tribute to the 80-odd-year-old.

And he pissed on Kriss Akabusi!

R.I.P. George - you the Testudinidae.

I heard that too. Great little interview.

But then Ellis is the queen of the animal death announcement.
