I may have asked earlier in the thread, but does anyone know of anyone really good two-player games?

Mr Jack Pocket is very good. As is Agricola All Creatures Big and Small. Coin Age is a current hit too.

If there's a prospect of more prizes for lucky voters of course it's worth continuing!

Well done to Dr X. and all who entered.

It's not just that they're both comics. They're both cowboy comic heroes who are on a quest to kill God.

Mmm - but that's not what the previous series were about *, and - unless all those metafictional moments are complete misdirection - I'm not sure that's how this series is going to turn out either.

* it's not what the Saint's story in Preacher was about until the very last act, for that matter
That's where you have the advantage. I've not read the previous runs of Ichabod!!

this is the first of Ichabod I've seen and the Saint was the first thing that struck me about the whole story.

That's just because Preacher and Ichabod are both comics, though, isn't it? The Saint of Killers is a great character, but there's nothing remotely original about him; he's a visual and narrative amalgam of every character Clint Eastwood played on horseback, right down to his hog legs and his origin/motivation. Unless we're arguing over who was first to co-opt established Western imagery in comic form ...

Talking of inspiration, this week's hundred foot steer in the sky made me thirst for Justice

Ichabod Azrael - I know everyone loves this, but I cant shake the Saint of Killers from my head.

I'm glad it's not just me. I've recently returned to the Prog and this is the first of Ichabod I've seen and the Saint was the first thing that struck me about the whole story.

I've just noticed that in the index to each comic there is now a heading for "annotations" as well as chapter headings and bookmarks. Is this new? How does one add annotations?

1. Queen and Country.
2. The Frog of War.
3. It's a Meltdown, Man.

Read now, read each volume as they come along, then read them all again back to back at the end. That's my plan, anyway.

The story is great, the art is exceptional, and the new printing is a very handsome volume indeed. If I were being hyper-critical the only thing missing would be some sort of foreword.

Yeah, I must get round to reading it again, there was also something about the Venus Blue Jeans story line teaching young boys to distrust women!

Nah, Sister Sledge had already taught that long before Venus came along.

Well it's definitely not Big Dave.

For which we give thanks.

I read from Progs 356 to 947 and loved it. I think I stopped in that dark period of the early 90s when there was something of a dark period; I remember Wire Heads being one of the strips towards the end, along with Death Race 2000 both of which were bloody awful. I started again with Prog 2014 and am loving my return to the fold.

Nice to hear it's not just men in their 30s and 40s that are buying the comic :)
I gave my son a copy of the first Rogue Trooper story to look at over the weekend as I thought it would appeal to him. His response - "it's about the future and war which is good, but it's in black and white".
He's 9. Kids, eh.
