Well, according to Funt's 2000AD in Stages, there are 48 pages and 3 covers spread over 7 parts. So, pretty close to half of that story.

Excellent! Not long to wait now!
I notice they have changed the cover to the classic Block Mania panel with Judge Giant as well  :D
Really looking forward to this one.

So people shouldn't try and highlight civilians being killed now because they weren't involved in highlighting them in the past? That doesn't really follow.

As The Shark intimated above, some of the loudest protesters now are merely anti-semites and that is the only reason they are invested in this. Just as the rest of the Arab world did f. all during the Syrian civil war. It's disingenuous.

Quote from: Funt Solo on 14 March, 2024, 06:02:20 PMUltimately, you're just some random on the Internet...
Ha! I'm sure you're not "some random" but this is where I step out.

I really don't have the time/inclination to get into long internet discussions. So, apologies for the drive by comments/handgrenade, but:

Quote from: The Legendary Shark on 14 March, 2024, 03:44:14 PMSecondly, there seems to be a media battle over whether sharing such information is antisemitic or not, which is another very uncomfortable topic. This is not to say that Lorenzo accused me of this or anything else, he did not, just that the current philosophical climate may have influenced his post in that great care has to be taken separating propaganda, bigotry, and facts. In this sense, he is right to question the figures and to not take anything at face value...
This, exactly. There is a large body of people who are using data like this for exactly that reason. Where were all of these Pro-Palestine types, wearing there freshly ironed keffiyeh, when Yarmouk refugee camp was levelled (for example).

Quote from: The Legendary Shark on 14 March, 2024, 03:44:14 PMThe figures will not be accurate in either column for obvious reasons

Which was entirely my point.

That's quite a wall of text there, Funt. You trying to emulate your Nemesis?

Quote from: Funt Solo on 13 March, 2024, 10:53:50 PMSurely you're not saying you welcome the deaths? Lorenzo? You're not saying you welcome the deaths, are you? Lorenzo?
Absurd. Yes. Obviously, that is exactly what I'm saying. /Sarcasm. I quite clearly said I was dancing on their graves and not merely pointing out the spurious nature of the data. There have been 10's of thousands killed in Ethiopia, Sudan and Ukraine, etc, etc. but this isn't an emotional pissing contest to see who can pile the bodies highest. Concern for human rights shouldn't be limited to those that shout the loudest on social f*cking media.

Only that's quite obviously bollox as the UN stopped counting in Ukraine 2 years ago and no-one has set foot in Sudan or Ethiopia. The figures from Gaza are also "compiled" by the "Ministry of Health in Gaza" which is a front for Hamas. Lots of dead - yes; believable, trustworthy data - no.

Quote from: Max Headroom on 09 February, 2024, 05:51:00 PMLorenzo - just out of interest, is your B&W Omnibus the old black Titan edition? Is it really superior to the newer colour edition?
I wouldn't say it's superior to the new hardback. I just have a preference for the original art in B&W. I have the original Rebellion omnibus from 2007 - all 3 books for only £11.99! Paper quality is good and the blacks are black but there are no colour covers, everything is B&W, and the page size is tiny.
I just have a soft spot for the original art as it was one of my favourites when I first started reading 2000AD.

Yes, as we get into the digital era there isn't going to be much point in these Apex editions. It's nice to see the pages at full drawn size but I like to see the pencil marks and white-out corrections. Not too much of that on a digital file! I don't know if the artists draw digitally at much more than printed page dimensions any more?

... and on the other hand I'm really glad I have the original B&W omnibus of Halo Jones as I actually preferred it over the over priced colour hardback! Still, gonna keep both though

Did somebody mention he Netherlands? I live there  :D  The Dutch government isn't trying to "eradicate farming and rural communities". The problem isn't even directly related to reducing the amount of meat people eat. Farmers in or near nature reserves are being encouraged (or forced) to downscale or close due to the amount of NOx and NH3 they deposit on the land, which is slowly killing off all the plants. There is major resistance to this as the farmers don't believe the science (!) and don't believe they should be the only ones to take action.

I was wondering exactly what the extra pages would be, so for those of us lucky enough to own the Apex Edition, these are the new added pages:

Prog 225 is page 18 (or p.3 of Dredd) Also, I don't think Prog 96 page 2 is correct as there is no Bolland art in that issue. My guess is the first page from either of the previous two Dredd progs that Bolland provided the pencils for and Leach inked.

Quote from: Le Fink on 24 December, 2023, 04:03:25 PM... I've been told the policy is not to check them before they go out....

Obviously, my copy went missing (again) so I haven't actually received my copy yet, but I was told by Mr. Customer Support person:

Quote"We did have a small number of copies reported damaged in transit and have had the warehouse check the stock so all SHOULD be well, however my faith in the system has been called into question more then once so please do let me know if it arrives with damage."

So I'm still waiting with fingers crossed.

Absolutely. You don't have to accept that. It's not even packaging damage, that has happened at the binding stage. Rebellion customer service is outstanding - I'm sure they will sort that for you, especially if you send that photo along as well.

Quote from: IndigoPrime on 24 November, 2023, 11:37:14 AMGlad you got your book. Slightly less glad you posted pictures, because, damn, I have to get that one. I'm still wavering on O'Neill, but that McMahon art is a must.
