In case you don't know, Unbox are releasing a magnificent Zombo action figure! Should be up for order this weekend. I've heard the price will be $20 - bargain!

Don't eat me please! Small parts

Was wondering if they'll be available from the Future Shop? Shipping from Hong Kong will maybe double the price like. I'm sure Tharg could trim a bit off for UK squaxx .

Howdy all - long time no see! Rather than drag up the old mini painting thread, I thought i'd start a new one to post some pics of my Dark World Creations figures/kits. Anyone else done any of them?

I've a bunch of them done now and a couple to go, but I'll kick off with the last one I finished - the mighty Lawmaster Mk 1 kit my Mrs bought me last year... Hope you like!

'lo there

Thought some of you might be interested in the new 35mm Rogue Trooper miniature from Dark World Creations. I'm sticking with the 70mm range as my eyes have trouble enough picking out detail, but it does look spiffy.

General / Tour of Duty and connected yarns

After seeing the art of Dredd book, the lush flick and me blathering about how good TOD was, Mrs Mikey wants to read it, so I'm going to buy the collected tpb for her.

She used to read the prog so knows the crack with Dredd, but I wanted to add the ancilliary stories too to properly introduce the characters so want to get the full list. Here's what I remember;

Origins.

The Streets of Dan Francisco.

The talented Mayor Ambrose (?)

The Backlash.

TOD.

Anything else for the full picture? She also expressed an interest in the Apocalypse War and Cal :-D

Dunno if it's the right place for it, but I came across these today - merch based on Hateful Dead.

I've bought the grey t-shirt, no more room to hang prints so I've held off. Look great though!

Off Topic / Start spreadin' tha news...
04 April, 2011, 05:09:42 PM
...I'm going to the City that Never Sleeps, so good they named it twice, the Big Apple, Chipping Sodbury New York in a couple of weeks.

So has anyone got any personal recommendations for things to see and do while there? I'm staying on the Upper East Side, accross the way from Central Park and will be there for 4 days. I hear them US types like comic books a bit - any essential comic shops to check out? Places to eat? Fun type stuff?

Mrs Mikey's already there - members of the hotel staff had difficulty understanding her when she said the WiFi signal was poor in her room ('It's what? Purr?' 'No, poor. P-O-O-R.' 'What? Poo ar?Oh! You mean poohwer!), and she's a merble mooth her accent isn't as strong as mine!  :-\

Cheers,

The time has come, my fellow squaxx!

I'm thinking of selling off most of my single issue comics and am wanting to gauge what interest is out there.

2000ad -  run from the early eighties to now of course - before '87 I have patches of runs/singles remaining, after '87 it's more complete with the odd issue missing (I don't have a complete issue inventory at the minute!). If someone wants them all as a feel swoop I'm open to offers, but of course am happy to sell blocks or singles for collection completionists.

Megazine - one or two of volume 1, but more or less complete (few singles missing probably) from vol.2 to present. Again, fell swoop or requests (some pending already)

Crisis - complete run. This is the one I might dither over TBH as it's a defunct publication, though I hope for reprints! But if someone wants them, I'll not back out.

Caveat. Although I know where they all are, they're not 'at hand' for the most part, so if I get a slew of rabid offers there won't be a quick turnaround as my only chance to dig around will be on week ends mostly!

This has been a hard decision to make. Even as I type I feel a bit emotional, but gruddamit, I need space! And money can be exchanged for goods and services...

Cheers,

M.

EDIT - pricing! I'd take Wake's pricing as my guide, but I'm not unreasonable!

Prog / Prog 1720 - Legion of the Damned!
05 February, 2011, 09:19:12 AM
And it's early doors from Mikey...

Dredd - Excellent. The pace has picked up, a good mix of action and intrigue. Plus a chuckle for
'unemployed seat sniffer'
- heh! Turning into a classic Dredd tale I reckon!

Shakara - Fantastic! This episode was just superb, even in comparison to the joy of the series so far. Can't add anything else to that really, apart from wondering how the hell Flinty keeps up such creative energy...

Necrophim - I like Uriel, but I also like Neboron, but who is best? There's only one way to find out...FIGHT! Hurray! At last I get the action I've been waiting for - a great episode! Really enjoyed this and it looks to be going out on a high.

Ampney Crucius - After last weeks reveal, this hit the spot for me too! I don't really care about how it fits into the Edgiverse TBH, this was a fun episode. I don't know if it's really been mentioned much before, but SB Davis does comedy really well.

Kingdom - Saved the best 'till last, saying something when Shakara's in the prog.
There's still military! And the General's reporting to them! They want to kill Gene for, um, genes!
. And further to the time line questions - just notice what's on the big square telly.

Oh - the cover's grand too. Is this Steve Ellis's first proggage?

Excellent Prog, Tharg.

This for all the people justifiably proud of their Big Avatars.

Not for us the toil of the tiny, the travails of titch and the temerity of the toaty! (sp?) We can't help being big - just because the world doesn't fit our dimensions doesn't mean we do not deserve to tower over those unconcerned by size!

Show those miniscule muppets! Perfectly formed is a myth! We are Big. We are beautiful. We are here to stay.

Games / Metro 2033
08 June, 2010, 10:44:21 AM
Anyone else picked this up?

Synopsis; Moscow after nuclear war. Humans have survived by living in the underground Metro system. 'Dark ones' (mutants or...?) stalk the tunnels and make moving overgound very dangerous, nevermind the toxic atmosphere. Artiom's home station is under seige by these critters so he heads off for help...

The atmosphere in the game is claustrophobic and the rendering and shading is superb. You have a miners lamp (and later night vision goggles) to see by so there are a lot of shadows for beasties and unfriendly humans to hide in. Combat is frenetic and at times frustrating (bullets really hurt!) but there's the usual selection of weaponry to help you cope. Overall, it would remind you of the action parts of Fallout 3, i.e. no character stats etc.

When I saw the map for the game I thought it would be huge, but I finished it in a week and it was fairly linear - but, that said I'd recommend it as a good FP SF actioner, with great atmosphere.
