Week 10 is quietly fascinating. No really BIG hitters, but some fascinating ties. What looks like some tough choices, some great stories, a local derby and a prime example of how a lesser thrill could just slip quietly through to later rounds by the luck of the draw. Good, interesting mixing coming this week.
LOCAL DERBY, tensions will soar.... But... well ...there's a load of possible local derby matches in this tourney. Some of them would be Liverpool vs. Everton, or even Nottingham vs Derby... this one is a little more Bristol City vs Bristol Rovers... mind that's only if you don't subscribe the my view that Ant Wars is GFD's best work in the Prog, a theory we are of course all still testing!

Just reply in this thread naming your favourite thrill of these two series at the beginning of your post (or use Bold tags so I can spot it easily) and say what you like about these wonderful stories after that.
Match ends early on the morning of Friday March 25th and the winner gets a place in Round 3 (of 9!!!).
What on Earth is ALL of this? (https://forums.2000ad.com/index.php?topic=48011.0)
For those that need 'um and can be bothered to follow 'um there's some simple rules (https://forums.2000ad.com/index.php?topic=48011.msg1070150#msg1070150)
Any questions, just ask as ever - and have FUN
Zancudo only because of Cam's art
Ant Wars
Ha, quite fun that these two have been drawn against each other. Going to go old school and Ant Wars.
Any Wars.
Ant Wars
Ant Wars! (Though this reminds me that I need to read Zancudo again)
SBT
Ant Wars, no contest really. Frankly I need to read both stories again but I have real soft spot for the first one.
Hate to vote against Cam (and I'm pretty sure I voted for Zancudo in some other poll last year) but the original Ant Wars*
* with anti-racism so subtle that some people thought it was actually racist **
** when any decision was to be made, Ant-Eater was always right!

It beat Kid Cyborg in Round 1, back in November.

I'll go with that too.
Zancudo
Ant Wars
Well this local derby hasn't quite generated the pssion in the stands you might have expected, even though Ant Wars is GFD's greatest thrill. Maybe folks are keeping their powder dry for their support of this thrill until it gets tougher opposition? Anyway you have today to vote.
Maybe y'all just need to listen to Fox and Eamonn enthuse about Ant Wars on Mega-City Book Club (https://megacitybookclub.blogspot.com/2018/07/70-ant-wars.html)
(and Fox and Conrad on Space Spinner 2000 (https://spacespinner2000.com/2018/07/13/collection-13-ant-wars/))
VOTING CLOSED
No other thrill has faced a local derby. No other thrill could surely have faced a challenge of that nature with the quiet assurity that Ant Wars did. Surely no more evidence is needed that its GFD greatest achievement? Well
Ant Wars
will get to provide more evidence in Round 3 and crush another thrill in its mandables of death.
