What's the weather like in Leeds. I'm led to believe publications of this kind are weather dependant. If there is a chance of getting sand and suntan lotion all over it, the likelihood of it appearing on shelves is greater. Probably next to the Fab lollies, under the Spangles.

It's still cold and grey in Leeds, but the rain has stopped and I've got my grubby mitts on a copy.

Cool!  Timothy - is that tin reasonably robust, and roughly how big is it?  Where did you get yours from, Otter, and roughly how much?

I'm afraid I can't help there; it's the iOS version that I play. Cheaper and easier to set up. From what I've heard though the tin's pretty good.

I think it's a great game. It can be very hard on the higher difficulties, but it's a fun game, and one which kids can pick up very easily.

Hmmm. Comics theme = good. Dice = bad in my book. My euro stylee tastes don't favour the randomness they bring. If I lose, which I usually do, I like to blame myself rather than the roll of the dice. Still, I may be wrong and will await your report with interest.

I've only recently started reading the prog again, after a gap of some years. Given limited space in the house I've gone digital, which is usually fine. This week though, I'm unable to appreciate that wraparound cover on my idevice. Stupid bloody technology.

That's always the equation alright: I don't mind taking a punt on something cheap with the possibility that I won't get to play it more than once, but when you're looking at the higher price stuff I need to know that I'm going to be playing it at least several times a year, for a few years at least.  Otherwise it just becomes embarrassing, a big box sitting there on the shelf reminding you of your foolishness.

That said, on Saturday I saw copies of Carcassonne and Catan in a regular toy shop  - I've heard of such things in other lands, but never here.  Got to be good news, set against the tide of tablet-and-phone-based games.

I find that tablet and phone games have really boosted my interest in boardgaming. There are some great conversions out there at a fraction of the price of their cardboard equivalents. I've often used ios conversions to test the water with an unknown game before buying the "proper" set for the family.

Hearthstone is taking over my life at the moment. The daily challenges and the arena mean that I've little time for my other board game loves of agricola and carcassonne.

I hope that giant washed his hands after last week's shenanigans.

Adult family life has finally caught up with me and I've found/been told that there's no room for all my old comics and my sons really aren't interested. As a consequence I've got a lot to get rid of.

This is the list -
2000ad progs 356 to 947 (374, 506 and 519 missing)
A bundle of sci-fi and winter specials covering the same period
Crisis 1 to 59 (57 missing)
Deadline 1 to 67 (19 and 23 missing)
Revolver - all including Romance and Halloween specials

These are the rules -
1. This is a job lot; I'm not splitting.
2. Winner must collect. I'm Leeds based.
3. I've really enjoyed these comics and I want someone else to too. Because of this I do not want any money Instead, what I want is for the lot to go to someone nice.
4. Post on here why you should get the comics. Please do not email me as it's only fair that anyone else interested sees what they're up against.
5. Niceness might be demonstrated by a good story, an offer to donate an amount to charity (the more the charity appeals to me the more likely it is to sway me), something that makes me laugh, anything really. I reserve the right to be capricious.
6.I'll decide the winner on Monday 12th of August and post on here.
