I mentioned this the other day but you might have missed it - there is an error in Cam Kennedy's Droid profile.
He's credited with the art on 'The Man Who Knew Too Much' from prog 438-439, unless he was having a radically change in style and working under a false name this was drawn by Carlos Ezquerra.
Git it sorted, awlright?
Heh!
Thanks.
I'll watch this thread, so if anyone spots any more errors, please post them here.
Cheers,
Wake
Thanks, Wake.
I'm trying to give up that habit! But you tempt me so...
Nothing to report at present though.
The first Charleys War GN contained the first 16 episodes (per Neil Emery's excellent online Stripography).
Link: CW GN profile
Book Two has 23 episodes ie 17-39.
Thanks
Prog 236s profile for Block Mania says its the first appearance of Sov-Judges - that would actually be the lunar olympics, and later appearances before Block Mania were "Battle of the Black Atlantic" and Pirates of the Black Atlantic"
Wake you've got a bit of sauce on your collar there.
That's it.
Prog 238 - the Abelard Snazz story is called "the double decker dome strikes back, and is a two parter - the first part appears in prog 237 - 10 pages in all
prog 241 features a Joe Black tale:
Joe Black's Tall Tale!
2 and a half pages
Script K Gosnell
Art John Higgins
Let Tony Jacob
Nemesis Book one doesnt appear in the following progs: 234,235,236,237,241,242
The Judge Dredd story "Fungus" ends in prog 277, not 278
In Belardinelli's art profile, he's credited with drawing all of the Ace Trucking Co story 'Strike!' - however, 'Strike Six!' (prog 395) and 'Strike Seven!' (prog 396) are credited to 'Giollitti' in the progs.
Based on the prog count, that's episodes 9 and 10, but there is an error because 14 progs are listed, but it states there are only 13 episodes. Are there 14 episodes or is Strike! not is one of the progs covered.
Wake
Sorry Wake - I made a bit of a bodge of that!
'Strike!' runs from prog 387 to prog 400, named from 'Strike One!' to 'Strike Twelve!' with the final episode named 'Strike Out!'. Also, the name of the strip itself changes from 'Ace Trucking Co.' to 'Feek Trucking Co.' (in prog 397) and finally 'Evil Trucking Co.' (in prog 398).
There are only thirteen episodes - there's no 'Ace Trucking' story in prog 391. (Tharg claims that 'the Dictators stole it' in prog 392).
'Strike Seven!' in prog 394 and 'Strike Eight' in prog 395 are credited to 'Giollitti' (not part six and seven as I said before - sorry!) - I assume this is also an error and it should be Giolitti (presumably Alberto himself or one of the Giolitti Studio - I suppose Belardinelli wasn't available for some reason).
Steve White is credited as an artist on Mean Arena book 2 - it should be Mike White.
Judge Giant Snr also appears in The Hotdog Run (prog 233 - 235).
Vetted! (Future Shocks) appears in prog 605, not 607.
The Kleggs also appear in the first Ace Trucking Co story, prog 332 - 336.
that'd be progs 232-236, BM? If you're having a grand readthrough, I hope your voting, bone machine - especially on those obscure future shocks!
'that'd be progs 232-236, BM?'
Errr...yes! Oops.
'If you're having a grand readthrough, I hope your voting, bone machine - especially on those obscure future shocks!'
Actually, I was going through those old progs for another reason...
I have been voting - hence the obscure Future Shock that's now in the Top Thrill position and the two 'thrills' that have ousted Chronos Carnival from it's rightful position as worst thrill ever.
Excelent work - although I think those stories are just as deserving of the bottom place as Chronos, so dont be too hard on yerself :)
Wake - would it be possible to list the stories with only 4 and 9 votes?
i have been voting for about 3 months now but i have not got round to those future shocks yet, i dont like fillers as a rule but will get around to them eventually, am currently voting using the profiles section on all the smaller and older series
its a big job but someones got to do it

Now, all you people who havent voted and want to get started, theres no better place to start than those with 4 votes (as your fifth vote will reveal the average), or 9 votes (as your tenth vote will make the story eligible for the top and bottom thrill lists)
The art in the final episode of 'Rick Random: The Riddle of the Astral Assassin' (prog 118) is credited to 'L.J. Silver'.
I can't blame Carlos for not wanting his name on it...
Episode 3 of 'Rogue Trooper: Bagman Blues' was drawn by Eric Bradbury, not Brett Ewins.
You'll let me know when I get annoying, won't you...?
Cliff Robinson did the art for 'A Real Xmas Story' in prog 502, not Cam Kennedy.
Just so long as you don't make any mistakes on your corrections...
Wake
The front cover of prog 662 (currently listed as 'Unknown') is by Steve Cook.
He's left his signature icon in the bottom right hand corner.
The art on 'Rogue Trooper: The Saharan Ice-Belt War' (prog 730 - 741), currently credited to on Smith, is actually by Simon Coleby with Gina Hart on colours.
The character of Lord Greystoke in 'Captain Klep: Lord Klep' (prog 140 - 149) is actually a chimpanzee, so is therefore an ape in a dinner jacket and not a monkey in a hat.
If you're going to count chimps as monkeys, Don Uggie Apelino from 'Judge Dredd: Ape Gang' (prog 39) and 'Law of the Jungle' (1983 2000AD Annual) should be counted too.
He has a pork pie hat.
i had a feeling that 'monkey in a hat' was only in the one strip???
wake
john hickleton is credited as john hicklenton in some progs on nemesis and some of his us work (im not sure which is correct???)
Humphrey Bogart never said "play it again, Sam". Probably Dorothy Parker did.
Wake, a few more for you:
Prog 611 has a reprint of Walter the Wobot story "Eisner Block" from JD Annual 1981.
Prog 731 has a 4 page prologue to Below Zero.
Prog 999 Dredd episode is double length.
Progs 1000-1005 Durham Red story is "Night of the Hunters" rather then just 'Hunters'.
Prog 1013 Black Light episode is double length.
Prog 1034 Al's Baby episode is double length.
Prog 1061 SinDex episode is double length.
And just one more thing... Armitage Megs212-213 page count should be 14
Prog 674 is listed under the
Dredd section of The Cover Story, but it?s a cover of Kraken.
La Placa Rifa,
W. R. Logan.
...And Sisters Of Death
Wake!
No Droid Life data for prog 1374, and Red Seas doesn't appear on that prog profile page either (although the page/episode count is correct)
"Prog 674 is listed under the Dredd section of The Cover Story, but it?s a cover of Kraken."
But technically Kraken is Dredd. Whatever the case, Kraken has the best chin ever.
Since I haven't got prog 1374 I haven't decided what to call the droid life episode yet. any suggestions?
Wake
Droid life 1? They all seem to be parts of the same story after all?
Oh, haven't read it since last Monday... "Satanus" maybe? anyone got a better suggestion?
Wake in "No Prog" Shocker!
What's gone wrong?
Satanus would be the obvious title.
Wake in "No Prog" Shocker!
My sub goes to work (to avoid my letterbox). I'm on paternity leave.
Wake
Probably best idea to keep it safely away from newborn baby puke...
Wake:
Prog 32. The futureshock is credited to Panacomics. but Horacio Lalia has his name on the first splash panel.
Bolt-01
Thanks. Since Panacomics is in the mark up book I've changed the credit to Horacio Lalia as Panacomics
Cheers,
Wake
WAKE!!
The credits for the mind of Wolfie Smith in Prog 177. The site lists it as being Redondo, but the last episode was drawn by J Clough.
Bolt-01
You're really enjoying that read-through, aren't you?
Ah Dude, I was 10 when I last had these!
Bolt-01, happy as a droid in an oil shower!
You're really enjoying that read-through, aren't you?
Actually, I gave up the Big Read Through and Vote just after the Summer Offensive in prog 800-something...
According to Grant Goggans site J. Clough is Mike Dorey. Also, is Mind of Wolfie Smith book 2 15 episodes rather than the 13 I originally had listed?
Cheers,
Wake
From Grant G's site:
15 episodes, progs 162-175, 177. (Apr. to Sep. 1980). Story by Tom Tully, art by Jesus Redondo, "J. Clough" (Mike Dorey). Link: Touched by the Hand of Tharg
I thought it was Dorey, but the credits said otherwise. Glad to be put right.
Bolt-01
The back cover of 196.
Thats Dave Gibbons doing the inks that is.
Bolt-01
Return to Armageddon in 196 and 197 has art by Johnny Johnson. It is credited solely to the mighty Redondo.
Bolt-01
WAKE!
Progs 216 217. The art on the Dredd strips was By Barry Mitchell.
Bolt-01
ahem
Judge Dredd in 218 /219 is the sole work of Colin Wilson. You've got Gibson and Smith in there too.
Bolt-01
That's because the Mega Rackets was originally listed as one story so when I split it into the different segments I put all the artists on every section.
Wake
I thought that might be why.
The Fshock in 220 is titled Hen-pecked Henry, the databse just has it down as henpecked.
Bolt-01
The Mean Arena is not is prog 230.
Bolt-01
or 231 either.
Bolt-01
If you've got those progs out Bolt - is there really only 4 stories in prog 233? Is one double length or is there just extra adverts/news pages?
Ace Trucking Co
Nemesis the Warlock
Judge Dredd
Strontium Dog
There are only four stories, yes, and lots of extra features pages and stuff. Mean Arena was absent from progs 230-233, returning for the "Salford Slicers" story in progs 234-238.
--Grant
Certainly was Odders. Just had to check myself.
Bolt-01
WAKE!
The Mean Arena wasn't in prog 245 either. That prog is missed off the listing.
Bolt-01
The Mean Arena's listing on the site would be a little easier to handle if we dumped the idea of "Book 1" and "Book 2" ("53 episodes!") and went with these divisions:
Story 1: 19 episodes, progs 178-180, 182-187, 191-194 and 197-202
Story 2: 6 episodes, progs 218-223 (Tully/Dillon)
Story 3: 4 episodes, progs 226-229 (Tully/Bradbury)
Story 4: 5 episodes, progs 234-238 (Tully/Bradbury)
Story 5: 8 episodes, progs 239-244 & 246-247 (Tully/Bradbury [1-2]/White [3-9])
Story 6: 9 episodes, progs 248-251, 253-255 and 258-259 (Ridgway/White)
Story 7: 7 episodes, progs 261-267 (Ridgway/White)
Story 8: 11 episodes, progs 268-277 & 279 (Ridgway/White)
Story 9: 3 episodes, progs 280-282 (Ridgway/Eldridge)
--Grant
Mean Arena. If you can come up with reasonable titles for the 9 stories then I'll do it.
Cheers,
Wake
We could do them in the Matches? "Match 1, Vs the..."
Etc
Any good?
Bolt-01
Well, the titles I've used are...
1. The Southampton Sharks
2. The Jensens
3. The Penzance Riggers
4. The Salford Slicers
5. The Edinburgh Executioners
6. The Oxford Invaders
7. The Allerton Ants
8. Mother Vlad's Vampires
9. The Video Game
--Grant
Aces! that sounds good to me Grant. Mind you it's up to Wake.
Bolt-01
Those sound fine. Any chance you have the page counts for each one, or someone else can do them for me?
Cheers,
Wake
If you want to wait till I'm back from my hols I'll go through them and count.
Bolt-01
In the Meg:
3.47 3.48
Ian Gibson drew Heartbeat, not Mike Collins.
Bolt-01
Oooh, ew, tricky. Looking over my grid, I'm afraid I'm missing 17 progs with Mean Arena between 178-282, so I can't help with accurate page counts. Sorry!
--Grant
Based on the data I have it looks like almost all the episodes must be 4 pages long, so I'll go with that and if anyone spots any variations from this please let me know.
Cheers,
Wake
The new titles are done. However as a result all votes for Mean Arena Book 2 have been lost.
Cheers,
Wake
erm, Wake;
You have listed the Oxford Invaders as being by Tom Tully and Steve White.
It was A Ridgeway and Mike White.
Bolt-01
Get a life, Bolt!
Bog Off RAC! I'm lovin' this.
Wake the same goes for the credits for the Allerton Ants (261-7)
Bolt-01, reading these for the first time in 22 years!
Bog Off RAC! I'm lovin' this.
Yes, that is not hard to see!!
I've got an almost complete collection to work through!
Pedants R us!
Did Steve White do any Mean Arena or are all the White references Mike White?
Is Ridgeway spelt like that or Ridgway (as per John Ridgway)?
Wake
Wudddizzhis Kraziherziieert
Wudddizzhis Kraziherziieert?
aaaaarrgggguuuhh!
goodnight all, no embelishment intended.
Sorry Wake it is Ridgway
And It is all Mike White.
I'll sort page numbers after the hols, but all thwe ones I'm reading at the mo (262 ish) are 4 pages.
Bolt-01
Thanks
Re page numbers, I only need to know if you find any episodes which aren't 4 (or 3?) pages.
Cheers,
Wake
Shouldn't Dirty Frank be put up with Aimee Nixon in the Low Life section ?
Wake,
There is a problem with formatting being used in the title of a thread.
If the title is truncated in the message hierarch (e.g. like this...) then you can lose the end tag from the formatting. This results in the whole message being in that format.
See the recent firekind poll for an example of this.
Dan
If the title is truncated in the message hierarch (e.g. like this...) then you can lose the end tag from the formatting. This results in the whole message being in that format.
This is a problem with the new category view of the message index, which I will work on in the near future.
Cheers,
Wake
I bet Wake just loves this thread..!
Hey, Wake!
The Rogue Trooper listing for progs 422-432 shows Antigen of Horst as being an 11 episode story. It's actually 10 parts, skipping prog 427.
--Grant
Wake!
The cover of 279 was by Mike WHITE not Western.
Bolt-01
Wake's on holiday at the moment.
Mr Wake, he dont wanna see nobody.
However the error has been noted... and updated.
Ah, so for now this thread should be headed up with a:
YO! Daney!?
Bolt-01
Yo! Daney!
Mean Arena in progs 281 and 282 were drawn by Mike White. Jim Eldridge only did the first episode of the Video game.
Bolt-01
AHOY CAMPERS!!
The cover to prog 311 is listed as being a Nemesis cover by Massimo, it should be credited as a one-off.
Bolt-01
I keep getting logged out!
I keep getting logged out!
This may be due to your security preferences on your computer. Do you have to select a different cookie type in order to log in.
Cheers,
Wake
I stay logged on for a while but then I get randomly logged out.
It seems I can log on with any cookie type but eventually I'll be logged out anyway. It's happened on my home computer and the college one too.
It all started after I changed my username. I changed it back but still nothing. It's only a minor annoyance really but it can be pretty frustrating when I'm in a hurry to type something...
Don't know if this has been reported - but "Megazine" is spelt "Meggazine" on the homepage...
Think that's the idea Gavin...(look at who's on the cover)
Prog 1139 has a 16-page "Thrills of the future" supplement as a free gift: not listed on the database.
There was a version of Prog 2000 that came bagged with a free copy of Prog 1168 (plus an apology letter from David Bishop explaining that Prog 1168 had failed to reach the shops in certain regions of the UK).
Don't know if that information is something you'd want to include in the database?
Wake:
Prog 391. The cover is by Robin Smith, not Lalia.
Bolt-01
The story "food", in the 1979 annual was drawn by Brett Ewins.
Bolt-01
The future Shock "the mumps from beyond the moon" from the '81 annual is credited to Alan Grant and Robin Smith.
Bolt-01
The future shock "the man from 2000" in the '81 annual is by Oleh Stepaniuk and David Hine (Tao deMoto?)
Bolt-01
Wake.

The 1995 Judge Dredd Mega-Special also includes the following stories:
O'Rork: Triple Indemnity
Writer: Jim Alexander
Illustrator: Lol
Lettering: Fiona Stephenson
Text Story
8 pages
Judge Dredd: Judge Planet II
Writer: Si Spencer
Artist: Shaky 2000
Lettering: Fiona Stephenson
10 pages.
In the database, Fink Angel is not listed as "Featuring" in Destiny's Angels (progs 281-288), but he is listed (obviously) in The Fink (progs 193-196).
In the database, Merry Tale Of The Christmas Angel (prog 450) is noted as being the "longest single story ever to appear in one prog of 2000AD" at 14 pages.
What about later progs where the entire issue is given over to the "Judge Dredd & Rogue Trooper" crossover, or the all-Slaine prog?
How about "One of the longest single stories to appear in a single prog"
Cheers,
Wake
Sounds good.
Another one: Banana City (progs 623-625) has this note:
"Sequel to 'Crazy Barry, Little Mo', progs 615-618. Dredd goes undercover as ?? judge"
What's supposed to replace the "??"?
My guess is "Cuidad Barranquilla".
Sector House, the Judge Dredd story from progs 1215-1222 is missing a page count.
There are 185 2000AD stories missing page counts plus 2 from the Megazine (Dredd: Shooting in 3.14 and Wynter Cold Justice in 2.70) and 395 in other publications.
If you tell me the page count for Sector House I'll add it, but I'm probably not going to get around to counting myself.
Cheers,
Wake
The Shooting in Meg 3.14 is 9 pages (not counting the half page 'splash/credits').
Wynter in Meg 2.70 is 9 pages (not counting the full page 'splash/credits').

According to the Cursed Earth section Satanus first appeared in Chapter 9 (Prog 69). As far as I can recall this Chapter was drawn by Bolland and was called the Slay-Riders.
The actual debut was Chapter 13 (Prog 73) in the appropriately titled 'The Coming of Satanus'!.

Heya Wake,
The Dark Judge Star Scans Prog 555-558 are by Senor Garry Leach!

From the database when you look up Prog 4:
"M.A.C.H.1
To Kill a President 4 episodes (Progs 3 to 4) 6 pages
I believe this should read "1 episode" and "(Prog 4)", based on the surrounding info.
Prog 37 lists:
Tharg's Future Shocks
Robot Repairs 1 episode (Prog 37) 2 pages
This is actually a two-parter (progs 37-38), with 5 pages in total (split 3:2). (The listing for Prog 38 fails to mention it.)
Prog 41 is missing an entry for:
Tharg's Future Shocks
The Runts

Lettering: Peter Knight
Prog 45 has Judge Dredd story as "22nd Century Futzie". That should be "Futsie".
Prog 46 has Invasion as "untitled", but there is a title given in the prog: "Deadlier Than The Male!"
Prog 50 has Judge Dredd story as "The First Luna Olympics". That should be "Lunar" (as given in the prog).
Database says:
> Dan Dare
> Star Slayer 24 episodes (Progs 36 to 51) 63 pages
Should be 16 episodes.
Database says:
> Judge Dredd
> The Killer Car 4 episodes (Progs 53 to 56) 24 pages
Oddly, this isn't named on the page for the first 3 episodes, but then it's named in part 4 as: "Elvis, Part Four".
Wake. I'm 99% that the postergraph on the back of prog 570 is Mike Collins. Maybe Mike will confirm?
Bolt-01
Id say Mark Farmer...
Possibly with mike Collins - they did work together on Slaine.
Is it me or does it looks like his kneepads are slowly contracting, forcing his upper body and thighs to inflate?
Mike has confirmed that it's by Mark Farmer alone.

Curious: Wake, did you design, create and populate the database?
(And if so, did you get a Krill Tro Thargo?)
This site started life as Barny Shergold's fan website called The Cover Story which had a php/mysql database of 2000AD covers and cover credits, plus an Excel spread sheet of story credits up to prog 1244 and Meg 3.78 from Rebellion (which didn't include letterers)

The Mind of Wolfie Smith is listed with an 18-episode Book 1. This is actually two stories.
First, in progs 127-130, is a four-part story, untitled, with art by Ian Gibson. (I've called it "The Evil of Matthew Hobb".)
Next is a 14-part story (progs 131-134 & 136-145) called Night of the Carnivore. Art is by Vanyo for pts 1-12 and Mike White for pts 13-14.

Uh, I'm guessing you've already been told about this, but there's a fairly unpleasant image on the "Twelve comics..." thread that probably needs deleting.
Hey Wake,
A couple of corrections for the Starlord listing for Strontium Dog. According to the editorial in Starlord # 10, the story in # 8-10 was called "Planet of the Dead" and the story in # 12-15 was called "Paprika."
Actually, Starlord # 12 prints the Strontium Dog story with the title "Two-Faced Terror," so that one's correct. Sorry!
But Dash Decent does not appear in prog 180. That much is certain. =)

Wake, a couple of suggestions for Megazine Volume One:
Middenface McNulty: Wun Man an' His Dug is a 7-part story, not six. Meg 1.20 contains two separate episodes. (Unlike a lot of "double-up" appearances, this one is printed as two individual episodes separated by two other strips, the first labelled as "episode six" and the second as "7".)
Brit-Cit Babes: Episode one of this story is double-length. It's run as a sixteen-page chunk of Meg 1.16.
Yours in anoraktitude,
Grant

On the Daily Star Strips by Ian Gibson.....
The Cursed Earth finished on 4th May 1988.
Undercity started on 5th May 1988 and finished on 3rd August 1988.
Another minor one...
The Dan Dare strip in progs 61-63 is entitled "Nightmare Planet."
Some Revolver additions...
Revolver 1 includes a one-off strip NINE INCHES TO THE MILE. Script: Igor Goldkind, Art: Phil Winslade, Lettering: Bambos. Three pages.
Revolver 2 includes a one-off strip GOD'S LITTLE ACRE. Script: Ian Edginton, Art: D'Israeli, Lettering uncredited, but probably D'Israeli. Four pages.
The episode of Armitage in Meg 2.63 is illustrated by Pete Doherty. It's the City of the Dead "Prologue;" City of the Dead runs for 8 episodes beginning the following issue.
More Revolver additions...
Revolver 3 includes a one-off strip WALTZ. Script: Ian Salmon, Art: Glenn Fabry, Lettering: Bambos. Four pages.
Revolver 4 includes two one-off strips. The first is PLUG INTO JESUS (it's the feature on the cover). Script: Gary Pleece, Art; Warren Pleece, Lettering: uncredited. Nine pages.
The other is THE CROSSING. Script & art: Al Davison. Lettering: uncredited. Two pages.
Going back a little ways...
The 11-episode run of MACH Zero from progs 65-75 is actually two different stories.
The first one is an 8-part story called "Cousin George" from prog 65-72. The art is by Mike Dorey (pts 1-2, 4 & 6-8) and Ramon Sola (pts 3 & 5).
The second story is "The Suit," 3 episodes from prog 73-75, art by Montero. Page 1 of MACH Zero in prog 73 identifies it as "The Suit: Part 1."
Gods little acre, Revolver 4, is reprinted in The Kingdom of the Wicked Dark Horse collection. Dunno if that's any use for the site profile though.
Episode 7 of Dan Dare: The Doomsday Machine (progs 79-85) is by Dave Gibbons. Pts 1-6 are by Goring/Leach.
Shimura: Dragon Fire (Meg 3.14-3.17) notes that episode 3 is double-length. It's actually double-ups in the first three Megs:
3.14: 16 pages
3.15: 16 pages
3.16: 16 pages
3.17: 8 pages
It's pretty clear that it was intended as seven 8-page episodes, with a cliffhanger every 8th page, but it got juggled in this odd way when the Meg went monthly.

2000 AD Annual 1987 contains a strip that's not listed on the site: a reprint of the prog 253 Future Shock "The Bounty Hunters" by Moore & Higgins.
It also contains a reprint of the Ro-Busters story "The Terra-Meks."
The artwork in the Anderson: Psi Division story in this annual, "Golem," is credited to Romero. This is Modesty Blaise artist Enric Romero, whose only other 2000 AD credit appears to be Durham Red in Meg 4.15. He has two separate creator pages, one for each credit.

Wake
The covers for
Dredd Rules 16 and 20 appear to be credited to Simon Bisley, but they're actually by Greg Staples and appeared on the front of progs 776 and 778 respectively ...
Also, as I mentioned elsewhere, the story The Undeath Project in the Rogue Trooper Annual 1991 is credited on here as Cam Kennedy but the actual credit box says Smith/Perkins - I assume that's Cam Smith and Tim Perkins
Cam Smith's first credit in 2000AD itself was in 2001 so is it likely that he drew a story on the Rogue Trooper annual 10 years earlier? Smith could be Robin or Ron.
Cheers,
Wake
Ah, didn't realise that. Just wondered if it had been a confusion over Cam's ;)
That does create a mystery though - since the artwork looks like neither Ron's nor Robin's ...
and does look a LOT like Cam Smiths art, albeit a lot more polished
erm - more polished now, as back in the day, I meant!
Just had a look at it and the proportions of the people's bodies suggests it is Cam Smith's work.
Can anyone confirm this?
Hey Wake:

Onthe database for the new meg (251) you have the Paul Gravett interview down for 7 pages when it should be 2.

The Torquemada appearances are incomplete as he has appeared in most Nemesis series - he appears in some of the earliest ones and definitely Nemesis Book 1 as he appears on the cover of prog 222.
Link: Torq link
Judge Castillo's last 2000AD appearance was well after The Pit, I think in Cold Comfort prog 1225.
The message replies count is now counting the starting post as a reply. If no-one replies it still tallies as 1 reply. Small fish I know, just thought I'd mention it.
That small fish is also causing an error if there are an exact multiple of 25 posts on a thread, which ukdane spotted on Friday.
Cheers,

Er, why am I being sent every post on the Dante thread as an email?

The Exterminator 8 episodes (Progs 919 to 927) 57 pages
Script: John Wagner, Artist: John Burns
Thrill Power: 7.74 (19 votes)
John Burns only drew the first two episodes, after that it was Emilio Frejo.
And it began in 918, not 919.
Bolt-01
Does that mean that 918 has two Dredd stories, or are the credit details for The Candidates wrong as well?
How many episodes (and pages) does The Exterminator have. Based on 919-927 that's already 9 episodes, so perhaps it should be 10, with 8 drawn by Emilio Frejo.

In the "why bother making the correction" department:
Episode 17 of Harlem Heroes (prog 693, I think) is inked by Simon Jacob, not Kevin Walker.
Another "paying undue notice to the thrill-suckers" moment:
Chronos Carnival: The Caverns of Colony Five doesn't have a double-length last episode; prog 699 has two individual episodes in it, so it is a six-parter. Also the terrifying caption: MORE CHRONOS CARNIVAL SOON!, which proved to be untrue.
Finishing up the Harlem Heroes corrections:
Steve Dillon pencilled episodes 1-25.
Episode 26: Pencils & inks by Kevin Walker, solo
Episode 27: Pencils: Kevin Walker, inks by Simon Jacob
Episode 28: Pencils & inks by Kev Hopgood
Zero, Dry Run, that last episode... poor old Hopgood must have been on Tharg's bad side or something...
And he has Siku painting over his work on the second heroes series as well.

Prog 710 has a Future Shock that's missing from the site:
Sleighbells in the Sky, 2 pages
script: Gordon Robson
art: Steve Yeowell

The profile page for prog 716 has the Future Shock listed twice.
The profile page for the Dredd story "Won't You Come Home Bill Bailey" (723-726) has this notation:
"Post-Necropolis story. Originally written as post-Apocalypse War story"
It's about a group of citi-def units who went underground during the Sov occupation of MC-1 and emerge nine years later, convinced the Sovs have won. That is, it is still a post-Apocalypse War story, so what does the notation mean?
I believe it was written with the intention of being published shortly after the Apocalypse War and the scripts sort of hung around.
That's my assumption too.
Cheers,
Wake
Young Death (Meg 1.01 - 1.12) has a double-length final episode.
I don't know if it's a me or site issue but my 'posting clock' is wrong. At least I'm pretty sure it's not 5am, although it will be somewhere.
It says the above post was 06.22 - has a Thai ladyboys site reset my clock?
There was a brief server outage yesterday so that may have reset the system clock. If it's not fixed now I alert the relevant web bot.

New Nemesis collection has a load of extra stories at the end, from annuals etc. If I remember, I'll put up the details when I get home to check.
According to her character profile, Maria's first appearance was in The Return of Rico - but it was of course during Krong, about 25 progs earlier.
I've added two stories to the Nemesis collection.

Actually, that would be very cool to get these star scans from archive, rather than relying on Bolt-01 or ukdane, etc. scanning them.
I'll upload the starscan credits to the database in one go in the near future.
Cheers,
Wake
as soon as the details are up i'll start sending the various pages to you
Nice one, cause it'll be a good while before I'm reading these again.
Can we review the attribution of 358's cover to McMahon, based on the growing consensus on the "Definitive Slaine" thread that it's actually by Cam Kennedy?
If I have to dig the damn thing out and do a high resolution scan to pick out details and do a point-by-point breakdown on why it's Cam, then I will ...
But, I'm a lazy bastich, so I'm hoping an appeal to Mr Carter will suffice!
Cheers
Jim
That's 100% Cam. You can tell even on the thumbnail.
"That's 100% Cam. You can tell even on the thumbnail."
I'm in total agreement on this. It absolutely and unequivocally is Cam Kennedy, I'm just uncertain on what level of argument is required to convince either Mr Carter or The Powers That Be to get the attribution changed.
Cheers
Jim
I'm convinced. Comparing with the earlier Slaine coverrs (355 and 357) which are already attributed to Cam lends even more weight to the argument.
Cheers,
Wake

Bootiful. Justice is served. My work here is done.
Thanks, Wake!

Wake, Simon bowland lettered this weeks Stone island. (1557)
Bolt-01
Wake, the entry for this Harke & Burr story:
Satanic Farces 4 episodes (Megs 3.04 to 3.07) 28 pages
could use a note "Featuring: Missionary Man"
Prog 517 has no hi-res cover image.
Who the heck cares dept:
Prog 973 contains two episodes of paraSITES, pts 10-11. Actually, it's one of those frustrating cases where two episodes are run as a double-length 12-pager, and then pt 12 appears in 974, credited as "pt 11."
I had never actually read the story in one go before. It really is the most thrill-starved, boring piece of nothing you ever read.
"That's 100% Cam. You can tell even on the thumbnail."
It is Cam.
as soon as i get a chance i'll start working on funts star scan list
Wake, I've just voted on prog 1211, with the Lovely Andy Clarke Dredd cover.
I thought you had set up the page to show if the prog cover had been used elsewhere? Only this is also the cover of one of the recent Black Flame novels...
And the prog cover...
Bolt-01
In the Thrills section for Mean Machine appearances, prog 450 The Merry Tale of the Christmas Angel is missing.
Tharg's Future Shocks
Metamorphic Invaders! 1 episode (Prog 1229)
Script: D'Israeli, Artist: D'Israeli, Letters: D'Israeli
Thrill Power: 7.73 (11 votes)
According to the prog, this was lettered by Ellie DeVille, and it doesn't look like D'lettering D'izzy d'oes.
Bolt-01
The Slaine story in progs 1011-1012 is actually titled "The Cloak of Fear."
Judge Dredd Mega Special No 2. (1989) is missing a strip.
Judge Hershey:True Brit 5 pages
Script A Grant, Art Braithwaite & Elliot, Lettering Johnny A
Strip also features Chief Judge Silver, Grimlet and Brufen.
Do you think that's Dave Elliott or Phil Elliott?
I don't have anything by Dave Elliot to compare, but the art doesn't look like Phil Elliot's on Gaia Conspiracy in the '88 2000ad special.
Part of the first page with credits below.
The listing for the 1991 Annual is *apparently* missing a Moon Runners story called "The Homecoming." I don't have a copy of the annual to confirm or provide a page count, but it is in my own listing, and the characters do appear on the front cover.
Can anybody else in the Hive Mind please confirm this info?
