Off Topic / Office decorations
09 December, 2002, 04:42:07 PM
The Christmas decorations have just gone up in my office and they're so crap it's actually depressing. The whole thing consists of a Christmas tree that has some kind of wasting disease, 3 normal baubles, 6 scary baubles (the kind of things used in Victorian times to frighten children), 4 lengths of tatty tinsel, some 'festive' window stickers and some fir cones and cotton wool glued to a plate. The only high point is the effigy of my boss I made last year, that ironically has the top of the tree shoved up his arse.

Anyone else got crap decorations at work, or have I got to suffer this alone?

General / (No Spoilers) Prog 1319's Dredd

Another Dredd tale penned by Mr Rennie to make me laugh, this time with a familiar place. Well done Gordon, although I suspect an intergalactic message will soon be beamed to Earth voicing the disgust of PG's inhabitants.  :)

General / Hotel for Dreddcon. For those yet to book.
22 November, 2002, 04:09:40 AM
Don't live in London? Still not booked a hotel yet? Tsk!

The link below should take you to the Thistle City Barbican Hotel website. It's roughly 10 minutes walk from the convention, is four star and is a staggering-cheap-for-the-middle-of-London ?35 a night.

General / Dreddcon hotel?

Just wondering if there's any word on hotels yet, and also if the special rates that seem to have been the norm for the previous ones are going to be on again?

News / Vivendi Publishing
18 October, 2002, 04:41:11 PM
Not sure if this is entirely true or if it'll have any impact on the Dredd game if it is, but I've picked up this nugget of information.

Vivendi Universal could be selling its publishing unit Vivendi Universal Publishing to reduce the company's 19 billion euros debt (of which game arm Vivendi Universal Games is a part) within a matter of days. According to a source close to the matter, "The candidates could submit their bids from Tuesday of this week. They have until October 21. But a decision could come in the next few days." We must stress that presently this report should be considered a rumor.

I can't seem to reply to the original thread for some reason.

Sorry I didn't get back to you yesterday. I'll definitely send it tonight. Do you want it in colour or b&w?

General / OT: 'Pint of the similar?'

Just got this month's independant previews in my inbox, and was pleasantly surprised to see this.

"JOHNNY NEMO VOLUME ONE TP
by Milligan, Ewins, & Dillon

After a ten-year hiatus, Johnny Nemo is back! New London's ultra-violent private investigator of the future returns in a book crowded with junkies, fascists, scheming billionaires, and gorgeous women galore. How's a P.I. to cope with all this? By killing as many people as possible of course! Collecting seven rarely seen Nemo stories as well as a "Time for Nemo," a brand new story written especially for this collection! Nemo is old-fashioned mad, violent fun for the morally bankrupt degenerate in all of us.

MATURE READERS

SC, 7x10, 88pg, b&w ?10"

An extra special hats-off to Mr Rennie for making me shower my lounge with tea first thing this morning while reading this week's Dredd.

Kudos

General / Today's sub. A thankyou.
02 July, 2002, 06:15:38 AM
The doorbell rang this morning as I was getting ready for work, and on answering it saw a very pissed off postie with an C4 envelope in his mitt. The reason being that stamped on said envelope in huge capitals was 'DO NOT BEND'. After receiving my Meg in two halves last week it was great to have a relatively unadulterated subs copy through the post. Thanks guys.

General / Is this official?
28 June, 2002, 07:09:37 AM
Been trawling through some websites looking for a new fascia and came across the one posted below. Is this knock-off or an official piece of mechandise? If it *is* official, how come it isn't in the shop?

A sure sign of schizophrenic tendencies is constantly replying to your own posts.
