And there we have the makings of a new Slaine saga.

I thought the "at long bloody last" was a reference to the closure of The Books Of Invasion(s).

Cover - Slaine: The Final Act
A beautifully evocative cover, but, oi, Slaine - over here!  Yoohoo - we're over here!  Bloody celtic barbarians - prima donnas, the lot of 'em.

Droid Life
Good guy.

Judge Dredd: Time And Again
Zoiks.  This was good, although I was confused as to where JD got the hi-tech blaster from, until I looked back a few frames to recap.  I was a bit confused about the perspective on the tumbling iBod as well, but I'm nit-picking here - it was a great wee tale.

Synnamon: Arc Of Light
The first two pages are possibly the worst pages of comic I've ever read. Bring back Chronos Carnival, all is forgiven!

Slaine: etc.
This is actually a pretty good closing episode, ignoring, as it does, the flawed logic that solved the murder mystery.  The art is much more enjoyable when we can actually see what's going on - and, in particular, the long two-page frame of the cast from Carnival is really gorgeous.  I hope this isn't the end of Slaine, but I think it needs a good rest, a new direction and a new artist (not that I think Langley's bad - but I reckon he needs to be given a chance to work on something set somewhere reflective and well lit.)

Future Shocks: Going, Going, Gone
This is good fun.  I'm sure I recognise the bespectacled friend who gets knifed for his comic collection.

The Ten Seconders: The American Dream
Best thing in the prog.  "The naughty seat?"

HOU's post, when it's re-published in Online Comicy Things International, will read:

"What an excellent web-site, completely free of any cliche whatsoever, as expected."

General / Re: 2000AD Timeline

2000AD became "2000AD and Starlord" in Prog 86.

This carried on until prog 127, when it became "2000AD and Tornado".

It reverted back to "2000AD" in prog 178 and has been ever since.

You might find my mostly complete http://www.amenable.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/twoKindex/" target="_blank">2000AD index of use.

I'm not sure if it was cheating to say that I wanted Jeff Goldblum - but I didn't mean sexually (although he is sexy) - I just meant it would be cool to own him - then when people pop round you could go "look, I've got Jeff Goldblum" - and make him say something laced with ironic wit and laconic charm.

I also said yes to wanting Patrick Stewart, then you could get him to say "and then it turns out that they're all naked, you see?"

The missing word was , as in "the  switches".

Dammit - the Geek Council, in their castle atop an icelandic glacier (? The Onion) won't look favourably on this typographical error.

After 7 years of web tinkering I only just discovered that the  switches on standards mode in IE6, but that if you put anything on the line before it, then it's back to quirks mode.

So, I can hardly call myself a geek.

I am currently on a scientific quest to find out why <body bgcolor="crap"> makes the screen go a sort of poo-colour, whereas using CSS to attempt the same thing has no effect.

I'm going to submit my findings to the Geek Council to see if I qualify, but only on a D20 roll of 12 or higher.

This is much better:

Big Wullie - There's only 2 Teams I Support - Scotland and whoever's playing against England (even the Germans).

This is great - I can pick up my one missing Meg.

Just wondering - would there be any easy way to add functionality to select a particular cover in the case of dual-cover issues?
