As I had hoped, to commemorate Yuri Gagarin's first space flight, there are a few shows about space exploration on tonight. Dan Dare and The Eagle comic have got a wee mention

Thought it might be worth noting that the sham elections for the Stormont Assembly are coming up

Didn't know where else to post this. Just saw the BNP's party political broadcast for the Northern Irish Assembly (sham) elections. Bloody hilarious.

I don't think the narration is vital to the plot of Bladerunner. But I would say it has an effect on the mood and tone. Gives it a bit of a gumshoe vibe.

Bollocks. The Simpsons use caricatures all the time. The plot of the Prohibition episode began with a drunken debauched St.Paddy's day piss up. Apu is voiced by a white man. The Mexican bumblebee. Cleetus the slack-jawwed yokel. Every episode where the Simpson's family goes abroad.

Is Matt Groening an unrepentant racist?

I can't remember who said it, but recently a comedian said something along the lines of; being offended doesn't make you right

Some would even find it arousing...

Look on the bright side. I know somebody who knocked someone over on his first try (she survived, luckily they were only 20ft from a phone box and an ambulance arrived promptly)

The Fleischer Studio's Superman cartoons had a few stereotyped renderings. Fat-lipped pickaninnies* and buck-toothed shifty-looking Japanese

Most offensive comic I'm aware of? That Danish one with Mohammed

*I know this is an offensive term, but there's something appealing about the word in itself (not it's connotations)

Zu Warriors of the Magic Mountain. Crazy Kung-Fu madness. The Special Effects were very special.
Did you watch the original or the butchered westernised version?

It had subtitles. Is the butchered, westernised version a variant cut? Or did the yanks remake it because reading's too difficult?

they even redubbed the lady in the tom and jerry cartoons so she didnt sound too inappropriately racially stereotypical.

THEY DID WHAT????
That's a bit of a slap in the face to the original voice actor.
Practically everyone in every cartoon ever has a silly voice.

Apu in the Simpsons? Jar-c*nting-Jar Binks?
