Mega-City 2099

Without any spoilers, I was quite confused with events in the latest Megazine. I thought this story was in continuity with the early Dredd stories. The interview here https://2000ad.com/news/interview-conor-2000-ad-judge-dredd-mega-city-2099/ seems EP suggest that it's supposed to fit in.

I think it's supposed to be a sort of parallel timeline. Well, this episode pretty much confirms it.

it was always created to be a paraell timeline a what if the weird unplanned lore of the early days just stuck around
