Both interviews were really fascinating.  I definitely took a lot from Abigail Bulmer as she works at Forbidden Planet and works on her comics in her free time, this definitely was inspiring to me as an aspiring writer and creator!

Wrong comic book store! She works at Travelling Man - but regardless, great it inspires you.

(I work at Forbidden Planet, and am equally inspired most days!)

Doh! Considering whenever I visit my friend in Manchester I always go into Travelling Man, I don't know how I managed to mess that up!

Ohhhh I'd forgotten about Mindwars. Can't wait until Wednesday.

I had a quick flick through, I am definitely looking forward to reading that this week!

Read the majority of this last night as some of the story arcs were half way through when I jumped onto reading the Megazine.

I really enjoyed Dredd, having that Alex Jones-esque radio broadcasting from a former Judge was a great touch, especially with such a hardliner in Dredd saying it is all ridiculous what he is broadcasting.  To me, Dredd is really unreliable here as he is so true to the law and the Judges it got me thinking that even when faced with possibility that they are corrupt at the core and controlling the population would he even truly question it?

The bit about having coffee/tea etc banned but weaponry and alcohol is still freely available made me think this.

A Tale From the Black Museum was fantastic, and I absolutely loved the artwork - definitely one that stood out most to be over the last month or so artwork-wise.  Loved the arc of the story, felt well paced and not rushed.

Finally caught up to date last night - wasn't really sold on the Max Normal strip to start with but have definitely warmed to it as it's gone on!

Loving Scarlett Traces, the constant use of red/orange really gives it that feeling of apocalypse when they are above ground.  Love the art work, definitely has got me digging out my trade of Leviathan after I finish what I am reading at the moment.

Dredd was a great one shot, as has been mention "I am fluent in facist" really made me smile, and I love how Dredd is just responding in trope descriptions.

I am currently reading Little by Edward Carey.  So far its really interesting.  I met the fellow last year and hes a really eccentric guy, can definitely recommend it so far.

He's a review in the Guardian - https://www.theguardian.com/books/2018/nov/10/little-by-edward-carey-review

Books & Comics / Re: Musing About Signed Comics

I generally (like the prevailing opinion in this thread) like to get stuff signed when I meet an author or artist, as its got a story to it.

I have one graphic novel signed and as he (I forget who it was) was signing it he got distracted.  He had written "To Rich, Get..." and looked at me and said "I totally forgot what I was going to write next!".

I joked "As long as its not "Get bent! I am fine!"

So now I have a copy of a graphic novel signed "To Rich, Get Bent!".

Still waiting on mine! I reckon it'll be through the door today or tomorrow.

Itching to carry on with the Dredd story and the Jaeger story.

I am really loving this current Dredd arc - and hope its a proper long slow burner as its just so interesting at the moment!

Loving the artwork as well, enjoyed listening to Colin MacNeil on the podcast recently chatting about it.

Read the Dredd part last night - excellent story and loving how it's evolving.  When he mentioned about a new council I saw it coming that he was going to put the RoboJudge on it, and love how it's creating that tension.

Currently I am playing through the first Red Dead Redemption as it went past me the first time round and my friends haven't let me live it down that I haven't played it!

Loving it so far, I can see why everyone was so hype about it at the time, and how the new one has improved in the original!

I honestly didn't know these were a thing! I have bookmarked them to get them in the future.

Just finished Dome, some brilliantly trashy sci-fi pulp novel I picked up for this massive second hand book store near me for £1.  The cover alone had me with it's tagline of "Read it while it's still fiction!".

It was pretty trashy but the chap (who's name escapes me) must have had some knowledge of how nuclear power worked as it seemed pretty sound in that respect.  Definitely a churn'em'out pulp novel from the 1970s though,  as it was riddled with spelling errors.

Gotta love a good pulpy novel from time to time!
