These latest photo's confirm to me that Dredd will look weak and round shouldered > as I suspected they would. The helmet's passable, the boots appear ok, but why oh why couldn't they have done something better with the shoulder section?
The missing chain bugs me too > as well as that weak, cheap looking lawmaster.

I'm surprised I have to point it out to anyone. If you look at Dredd in the comic strips his shoulders look wide and powerful. Even the Stallone film uniform had this.
The Judge's uniforms in this latest flick make them look round shouldered and weak looking. I'm not for one minute saying the uniform in this new movie could be exactly like the comic (obviously the uniform has to be realistic) but there's things they should have kept > like the trademark eagle on the right shoulder.

For the five minutes he wore it, yes. Which is the drokkin' point - it was impossible to move plausibly in it, he looked like the missing American Footballer member of the Village People. You'll note that Stallone spent 95% of that movie with no shoulder pads at all. The Minty boys have shown how a perfect copy of the comic uniform can work, but this is a different thing - it's a practical interpretation of the design for a 'realistic' version of the setting, and it's so true to the original concept of the character that even John Byrne couldn't object.
Also, the vanilla seems to be sitting a bit too high up on the plate.

You sir, are a complete and utter bounder, cad and scallywag. I will hunt you down, and one day, you'll get back from work, only to discover all your Ice Cream removed from the safety of your freezer, reduced to a pool of unsatisfying sludge, and there will be much gnashing of teeth, as you rue the night you once gloated about how you were going to enjoy your Ice Cream whilst some guy on an Internet Forum composed a tortuously long run-on sentence.

I don't have much time but I've made the effort to post on the bike and uniform as I feel strongly about them. Doesn't mean I hate everything they've done so far.
I think they've got the helmet reasonably well and I quite like Urban (wouldn't have been top of my Dredd list] but I think the bike and parts of the uniform are major things and should be done as good as possible.

That's the burden of being a fan,
shoulder it, can't change it now. They haven't exactly been
ignorant of such 'little things' though have they? They're just not to your taste and you're not making the film, they are, and it's been paid for up-front by others.

very important as any Dredd fan will know. They're not really little things > they're quite big things when it comes to Dredd.

Being lactose intolerant, I find this thread wholly offensive.
On the shoulder deal, I remember thinking the Nolan Bat-suit looked pretty mehsville. Once I saw Batman Begins, however, I found that it really worked within the reality the film portrayed - none of which skewed strictly to the comics but tonally couldn't have been more accurate.
Knowing that Nolan's work was a big influence on Dredd director Pete Travis, it's a safe bet that that's what we'll get: an alternate take on Dredd and Mega City-1 that looks different but, at it's core, is tonally 100% Dredd.
Not to nitpick in the opposite direction but, the costume is a modern take on the motorsport / riot cop look. In the 70's when Dredd was born, sport bike riders wore full leather suits, now they incorporate tons of armor - pretty much exactly like what the Judges are wearing in the film. It's an arty update on the concept - one that I think shows a lot of creativity and *gasp* a real understanding of the material at hand!
Ultimately, what is done is done. You can either support Dredd or not, not that it will make a bit of difference. Besides - for you costume sticklers, there's still Judge Minty which is DEAD ON aesthetically - I mean, how great is this - we're getting TWO Dredd films in as many years!! Shouldn't we be passing out the champagne?
While we're on the subject...

I won a goldfish.
It's not a particularly big goldfish, nor does it seem to be the brightest. It seems incapable of even the most basic maths, doesn't possess the greatest singing voice (although he is capable of holding a tune, at least), and while his main hobby appears to be reproducing great paintings of the renaissance period exclusively in the medium of melted wax, it's safe to say that he won't be contributing to the household budget solely through the power of art.
No, my goldfish will be destined to earn our crust through many years of hard graft in the local salt mines.
But you know what? He's a grafter. I can see that. And that's why, very quickly, he's become one of the family.
I shall call him Squeedge. And he's my goldfish.
And together, the universe isn't big enough.
I used to work as an ice-cream salesman in Gainseville, Florida. It didn't last long - a customer was so angry about the size & slope of my shoulder pads, the job became unworkable. I had to move to Berlin in Japan, where for a short time, I earned a living as a gear-box until the same customer from Florida showed up & made my life impossible - he showed up at every race & sang Pat Boone songs in my face all night. Eventually I had to change my marthas & take to the ocean where I discovered the power of Hesse & from then on, I was coasting.
I cannot say it was easy. Could it be the devil in me? Or is this the way love is supposed to be?
Anyway - suffice to say, that unto this day, shoulders & the pads that reside thereupon have caused me extreme distress & the mere mention of them brings me out in dire Chekovs. which, I'm sure you will agree, is not no fun.
Have a heart, people. Good lord. I was one of the first black musicians to perform on the Groot-time-jamboree-radio-hour-hootenanny-late-show-late-late-show-show, so I figure I done paid my dues.
I used to go out to the ice-cream van and make a point of asking him not to cover my 99 in raspberry sauce but clearly every time he thought I was actually asking for it and he'd lay that sticky shite all over it. Then I'd make my ma lick all the sauce off it. That story completely repulses me now...

I can understand them wanting to make it like a uniform that could be a real police uniform of the future. I certainly don't expect it to look exactly like the comic but I think they could have incorporated more elements from the comic than they have.
There's no reason why the shoulder with the eagle has to look so flat and round and there's no reason why the chain couldn't have been included either.
Ok.

I'm sure I'll regret this but: Chain's the first thing that had to go. Not very practical, is it...? Gets caught in stuff, makes noise. I would think when you apply Dredd's job against reality, you'd need to streamline anything decorative and impractical...
Hm. Is this a stupid question? How does Dredd undress in the comic? The chain's attached to the badge on one end and attached to the zipper on the other, right? The badge is attached to the suit.
Maybe that upcoming gay romantic Dredd literature will explain it...
You unhook the badge from the suit and pull the zipper. His big scarred chest puffs out with greying fur of Sean Connery standards as you unclip the belt and carry on unzipping to... as he shifts his super big shoulder armour off and pulls off a glove. But the main thing is you unhook the badge first silly.

Eagle? check

So, apart from the chain- what's missing?
The clear bit of the visor. They have even started to alter it in the comics. Gah! #wailing and gnashing of teeth etc.#
QuoteEagle? check
Shoulder pad? check
And both of which enable Dredd to lift his arms (unlike many interpretations in the comic). I'm still fine with the comic Dredd uniform, but it looks ridiculous in real life, and, yes, I include Minty in that (although the uniform in that at least betters the terrible 1995 effort). It looks like a dress uniform for parade, not something where you'd be smacking perps.
QuoteHelmet? check
Funnily enough, the one thing my wife said she didn't like about the new Dredd uniform was the helmet. Her comment was along the lines of: that just shows how stupid that design is. She said bits just looked tacked on and that the cross over the nose looked weird. To my mind, the visor adjustments in the '95 film were one of the things that actually worked, from a visibility standpoint, but I guess the helmet is iconic, so leaving it as-is makes sense.
QuoteBadge? check

The pads look great. They also look like a working interpretation of what's in the comic, again in a manner that betters the Stallone flick.

I obviously disagree - taking the 'it must be realistic' line would mean jettisoning a huge amount of cool designs in the history film - you would just end up with everyone looking like SWAT guys.
Look at the history of actual, real uniforms throughout history, there are some pretty funky designs there which people fought and died in.
I don't have a problem with DNA going the way they went, but I wouldn't say that way is the only way - it would be incredibly boring if everything went that route.

You're absolutely right, but that is obviously the line they've taken for
this film, and I'm frankly in awe of how much of the ornate regalia they've managed to translate into a plausible near-contemporary uniform. I'd much prefer to see a big-budget movie take the utterly faithful Minty road (as I suspect a mjority of us would), which more than anything demonstrates that the current comic design
can work, but I'm not a filmmaker, and I'm not trying to get funding, distributors, studios, quality cast etc. to believe in the bankability of my movie. If this is what the movie men think will create a film that puts non-fan arses on seats, I'm just happy that it's so cleverly done, and so faithful to the core elements of the design, while distancing itself in no uncertain terms from the '95 effort.
I think they've more or less been completely faithful to the original design, the only real change made has been to make some things a bit smaller -apart from the skid-lid- and the loss of a chain. They've added detail which I think is good as that adds a more 'grounded' lived-in feel.
The changes I'd make if there's another flick and the decision was mine wouldn' t be huge apart from adding more to certain accoutrements to make the 'ornateness' stand out a bit more, create articlation in the eagle feathers and add some metal detail, but not in a shiny way, more like the dull-brass cop badges...and maybe get a chain in there somewhere.
So far it's been almost exactly what I'd have gone for which is firmly based on the Ezquerra vision which was fairly sober yet stand-out style/size-wise up to the late 80's.
Now that we've seen the judges I'm quite curious to see what the everyday citizens and perps will look like in this movie... I'm hoping for something a bit more interesting than the usual 'futuristic' punks/goths/skaters, though I worry that is what we might get...

I think the point is that the costume has to be usable. For Dredd to really work, he has to be able to do all the things he usually does, without getting restricted by a giant eagle on his shoulder. Burton's Batman had a problem in this area, because the costume was inflexible. Even the '95 Dredd had restrictions on what the judges could do, which made them appear stiff and immobile, rather than judge, jury and executioner.
QuoteLook at the history of actual, real uniforms throughout history, there are some pretty funky designs there which people fought and died in.
And I'd argue this uniform is pretty funky. Really, the only major changes are the smaller shoulder pads, which, as others have said, echo the original design of the character anyway.

They could be our global friends or haven't gotten up yet.
I think the main difference is that this new version looks like a uniform, whereas Stallone's always looked like a costume.
I still think it could have been usable by integrating the wings into the chest and shoulder armour, the body is the shoulder pad and the head is flush. But, if you're limited to having contemporary vehicles it was probably the best choice (although I would have ditched the gold 'shell' on the other pad as well)
So even if you make it usable the argument that it looks ridiculous is only valid in the context of the environment in which its placed - if it is an outlandish environment then it's possible to accept wilder elements in the costume design.
A guy in shorts and a t-shirt would look equally out-of-place on the Death Star as Vader does in a shopping centre.
Yeah, if they'd have gone the Sin City/300 highly stylised route then they could have got away with anything they wanted really - giant eagle shoulder pads, cgi lightning visor reflections et al.
The realistic look is only one possible way they could have gone about this adaptation, but at least it looks like they are creating something with a consistent, highly polished feel.
The uniform is so radical it's bound to alienate some fans. I assume the producers were aware of that but thought it was worth the risk reinventing the look for a new film audience. Time will tell if they made the right call.
Two things I noticed - Urban's uniform tends to look one colour, blue. Perhaps it's the lighting but it doesn't appear to have the gold and green of 2000AD's Judge Dredd.
The other thing is the uniforms look very scratched and kinda dirty which goes with the grim and gritty vibe they're aiming for but it's not how I imagine Judges to look. I always got the impression Judges would have shiny uniforms and have a strong, perhaps obsessive, mind to maintain their appearance. Dredd always seems fussy about how Judges deport themselves. And I assume Justice Dept would have enough credits to hire someone to clean and polish the uniforms. :D
It's very difficult for officianado's of the Comic strip to contemplate Judge Dredd any other way. The powerful image of Judges Uniform is in my humble opinion a British design classic, simple and easy to recognize. But I knew the famous Eagle and shoulder pads had to be re designed for an Urban PoliceMan/commando. [I almost made a pun there!] You'd keep getting hung up in stairwells if you wore Heavy Metal Dredds shoulder pads for a start!
The Judge Minty style ones look great but I think the Film makers decided to have a brand, new Dredd distinctive from the Comic strip origins. Rounding the shoulder Pads is a good design ploy. Look at Dredd's uniform. The round helmet is the main thing you tend to see concealing the face and good design often repeats similar or the same shapes so rounding the Shoulder Pads/Eagle is a clever move by the concept Artists. Not to everyones tastes but it's done.

There's some truth to this, outside of major crises and odysses anyway. However, it seems (having not read the script) that the movie's Justice Dept is on the verge of being overwhelmed, as opposed to the almost Airstrip One setup we often see in the comic.

Judging by what we've seen so far, this is a very different MC-1 to the comics. In 2000 AD, MC-1 has a lot of resources and the judges more or less keep things under control. In this film, it looks like a city on the brink, with the judges desperately trying to maintain order—more Mad Max than Fifth Element.

And, as others have noted, from the first film. Big shoulder pads are unwieldy, but they're also reminiscent of what people saw in 1995. This film has to look and feel different if it's to have any chance of success. (Of course, plenty of people liked the Stallone film, so this new one will alienate them; however, Judge Dredd performed in mediocre fashion at the box office, and so a new direction makes sense, not least when you consider the darker path most comic-book adaptations have gone down in recent years.)

Yes, but it's hard to know where to draw the line. For every person saying the original design would look too bulky or silly on screen, another person could say the Dark Judges would look silly too. What is silly and what's not? There's no clear distinction.
My own view is Judge Dredd is science fiction so anything is possible and if the audience buy into the concept of super powerful Judges enforcing the law in a crazy city called Mega-City 1 they will accept the Judges wear large gear. I understand the other point of view, but it's hard to get past the fact Dredd is sci-fi so it doesn't have to be that realistic. A guy that never takes off his helmet in public could be argued as being silly but we accept that so larger shoulder pads isn't that hard to believe in.
Quote from: tharg4 on 27 July, 2011, 01:17:34 PM... it's hard to get past the face Dredd is sci-fi so it doesn't have to be that realistic.
The problem with that is that the
whole production has adopted a realistic look - set against that background the uniform has to make sense. I'd guess that a large part of that decision is budget, coupled with a desire to use practical sets over CGI (a very futuristic MC-1 setting would be expensive to realise with physical sets, dressing and costuming - a more near-contemporary urban dystopia more achievable), and to some extent to emulate the path followed by the Batman franchise. The latter point bleeds over into a need to distance itself visually and thus tonally from the '90's camp of its immediate predecessor, just as
Batman Begins did.

Going the realistic route could be an inspired move by the producers or a huge mistake. It is a risk because it's hard to know if fans and your average film goer will prefer a realistic, gritty version of Judge Dredd.
The big difference between Batman and Dredd is Mega-City 1 is a city of the future and Gotham is a city of the present. The Batman franchise has to stay rooted in the present so the world it depicts can't be too over-the-top but Judge Dredd is set in the future and, in theory, anything is possible. If Batman used a teleportation device or dimension jump fans would think that is too extreme but that technology is available in Dredd's world.
Psi power is featured in the Dredd screenplay so that helps to make it feel like a sci-fi world. :)
This is it exactly (Tordleback's post)
I'm not sure why some people find it so hard to understand - they may not agree with it, but it makes sense if they're going that route.

More than two decades ago I went out for a meal in the near-legendary Cafolla's in Ballina with a large group of friends , when several of us were vegetarians. The then-traditional salad burger was served up for the faithful (a bun with some lettuce and tomato, cheese optional), and feeling strangely unsatisfied after that pinnacle of the chef's art, dessert was ordered.
One of the girls ordered the enigmatic Banana Surprise, which turned out to be immensely impressive, a huge bowl of vanilla ice-cream with a half-dozen battered bananas poking out and rapidly melting the whole into a sloppy sickly joy. Halfway into her third banana, the girl stopped eating, turned very pale and said: "there's something wrong with this banana - it's grey". We looked, and she was right - the bitten-off section revealed a pinky-grey, gritty core. It was a WTF? moment before such things existed.
As the chef was summoned, we dissected the banana further... to reveal a battered sausage.
So don't talk to me about yer brown bananas.

My conclusion was that if Ben and Jerry were to just give their ice cream away in parks in July, and always get Gary Numan to play in said parks as well, I'll happily go along, even if it _is_ £20 and not the £17 that was advertised (and come on, festival organisers - charging a DELIVERY fee ON TOP OF a booking fee for an automatically generated .pdf file to be emailedfrom your official site is a tad on the cheeky side). Just say the ticket is £20.
(EDIT) - SORRY FOR GOING AWAY FROM THE TOPIC IN HAND.
I got carried away from the banana conversation - I should have mentioned that the bananas in the chunky monkey were well tasty.

There's one in Ipswich that has rum and raisin ice cream, and they have lots of Haribo-style sweets that you can put in it.
I have to say I'm rather fond of the Irn Bru ice cream made by a shop in Kilmarnock, he does Parma Violet and Killie Football team flavour too. Not quite sure that I fancy tasting the Killie Football Team though. ;-)
Yes, there is going to be a spin off comic: 'Dredd: Stubbly Law-Bastard of the Future'. Fortnightly.

God doesn't Lena Headey's MA MA character look a Bitch? Love that scar!
I'm not for one minute suggesting they should have had these huge shoulders which would get in the way (The Minty uniform was good but the shoulder pad needed more range of movement) but I still think they could have done something more like the comic instead of rounding the shoulder off like that.
Dredd should look imposing not as if he has round shoulders.

Quote from: tharg4 on 27 July, 2011, 11:34:03 AMTwo things I noticed - Urban's uniform tends to look one colour, blue. Perhaps it's the lighting but it doesn't appear to have the gold and green of 2000AD's Judge Dredd.
The pads are dark green and the shoulder pads are off-gold, like the badge.
QuoteThe other thing is the uniforms look very scratched and kinda dirty which goes with the grim and gritty vibe they're aiming for but it's not how I imagine Judges to look. I always got the impression Judges would have shiny uniforms and have a strong, perhaps obsessive, mind to maintain their appearance. Dredd always seems fussy about how Judges deport themselves. And I assume Justice Dept would have enough credits to hire someone to clean and polish the uniforms.
Quote from: IAMTHESYSTEM on 27 July, 2011, 11:40:44 AMThe Judge Minty style ones look great but I think the Film makers decided to have a brand, new Dredd distinctive from the Comic strip origins.
But they've gone too much the other way. It's one thing trying to make this film so it's distinct from the Stallone movie and another so it's
too different from the comic.
It's finding the right balance and I don't think they've achieved that so far with the uniform and bike.
ABCwarBOT, round? I think your confused, it is Dredd topic, not Captain America.

RE: The Sausage That Thought It Was A Banana
Years ago I was in Japan for a bit and we decided to go on a ski trip. Long story short, it was an overnight drive from Nara to Nagano. Around breakfast time we stopped at some dodgy side-of-the-road cafe and picked up some eats. I was given a battered sausage on a stick with some spicy brownish sauce on it.
Quite tasty.
Until I got halfway through and found that the battered sausage was actually deep-fried tentacle on a stick...
Boy were my shoulders round!

It
isn't too different from the comic, I also think you're taking the Stallone film too much into account, it's that film which was
too much of a diversion from the
source in more numerous/substantial ways. The new one is closer from story to design in, most importantly,
essence.
This, to me, is basically what Urban's Dredd is based on:

Shoulder pad? check
Helmet? check
Badge? check
Elbow and knee pads? check
Belt buckle? check
So, apart from the chain- what's missing?
Helmet ok, knee pads ok, belt buckle ok, boots ok
but > shoulder area could have been done much better Richmond. So Dredds uniform makes him look imposing.
They could have done the eagle more prominent and still have good range of movement.

Unless I am being fooled by perspective (it has happened before with disastrous consequences that required 2 months in a knob-splint), the strawberry section is one and a half times larger than the others. That is ridiculous. You either go for even thirds or you adjust the thickness according to the intensity of the flavours, so you might do your vanilla:chocolate:strawberry ratios as 3:1:2. Now I might be biased because, while I liked chocolate ice cream as a nipper I'd always eat around it perhaps going vanilla then strawberry then chocolate if I could be bothered. These days if you want a decent chocolate ice cream go and buy a separate one. I await the arrival of the choc-free Neapolitan with interest, as that'd almost be strawberry and cream ice cream.
I have nothing to add.

Well I think it's a disgrace that the eagle head on the eagle pad in the comic doesn't double up as a harpoon. We have been deprived for too long of the sight of Dredd dramatically dipping a shoulder towards a fleeing rad-whale and shouting "Shoulder 'poon!" And the eagle claws on the eagle shoulder pad, why don't they double up as grappling hooks, allowing judges to make Batman-like entrances and exits. "Grapple claws!" P-CHOING! "Taste boot, creeps!" and suchlike. The eagle feathers on the eagle pad should be detachable so they can be thrown like throwing stars or used in close combat to rip a perp's throat out. "Feather blade!"
Bloody Dredd creators got no idea whatsoever about eagle shoulder pads. It's a disgrace.
Seriously, is there Häagen-Dazs?

For the love of mercy ABCWarBot, SHUT THE HELL UP ABOUT THE SHOULDER PADS, I mean really!!! The new Judge uniform looks damn fine to me all over- including the shoulder eagle (raised or not)- and I think DNA Films have achieved a near-impossible task of creating both a realistic and practical Judge costume uniform that, at the same time, is still respectful and utterly recognisable to the source material, and I say "bravo!" to all concerned for both the effort and the fact they're not only making a new Judge Dredd film, but are determined to do it right this time. If you don't like the new uniform, fine n' dandy, but STOP FILLING UP PAGE AFTER PAGE OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT IT! Sorry everyone for going ballistic, but if this guy isn't scojo, then scojo's mum has a dark secret in her past she hasn't told him about, phew, I'm done now...
I don't like the mole on the upper corner of dredds face. At no point in the comics have I ever seen a mole being drawn on dredds face. Not even in early dredd. This is further proof that the dredd film is going to be shit and DNA films don't give a shit about us fans. They can't even get the basics right.
Oops. I intended to start a completely new thread related to this issue as it clearly deserves it but appear to have tacked it onto the end of a thread about ice cream. Mods, can you fix that for me please?
Alright <cracks knuckles> it's about time we all moved on.
ABCwarBot: You really need to let this go. You started an new thread to complain about a single aspect of the uniform and have steadfastly refused to accept that people are not interested in debating that any further.
Opinions and banter and not unwelcome in this forum, but when you continue to push a single agenda you piss people off.
Whether you are a certain person on not is irrelevant at this stage: Let it go, accept that no one wants to hear any more what is about what may be wrong and try to throw in something constructive.
Everyone Else: Give the guy a break and some rope. If he chooses to hang himself...
Cross posted as I don't want anyone missing out.
Amen to that

Could've fooled me. Seems to me like anyone who voices any opinions that might be called "negative" on here is shouted down and told to EFF OFF.
Honestly, some of you people on here need to grow up a bit.
Realise that not everyone who says they don't like certain things (I haven't criticised everything about the uniform) is this scojo bloke (or his relatives) and stop jumping to conclusions all the time.
I've never been on a site like it. I've never been on a site that's so obsessed with one person and where everyone gets so worked up about it.
It's ridiculous and it's got me wondering if half of you on here are employees of DNA or something. And to be honest I don't particularly care if people call me names or insult me. It all goes over my head.

Unfortunately you've arrived at a time when these arguments -for most of the members- have been
done to death and you haven't really added anything new to them apart from the fact you created new threads about how you don't like shoulder pads.

You haven't been around long enough to know what he's done and how annoying/destructive he is when allowed to post incessantly about the same things -that are never postive- especially when he starts to personally insult the owners of 2000AD and Rebellion or cause harm to certain individuals' reputations. John Wagner booted him off his
facebook page for the same behaviour.
He's on several other forums at the moment, bad-mouthing everything, and getting the same response from others that he gets here. His IMDB account has just been erased cos of complaints -not just on the Dredd threads- for the
umpteenth time.

Mate, we have no problem with dissenting opinion but you need to realise that you've come in from nowhere and started complaining without building up any goodwill whatsoever. If you're going to come on and your first action is an entire thread dedicated to bitching about one particular aspect, you should expect people to treat you with disdain.
We have had plenty of negative opinion on here already - the helmet being the biggest of them. But the point is that people debated their opinion, agreed to disagree and then moved on.
I appealed for calm yesterday in the hopes that everyone let it slide, calm the fuck down and then talk about something else.
There are some other member pissed at you and, on the assumption that you are not scojo, they do need to let this go too.
You also need to stop bitching about it, move on and start building up some goodwill by joining in the conversation in a calm and thoughtful manner and respecting peoples opinions. Harping on about the same stuff for seventy-odd posts is not the way to go about it. By continuing in this manner you are merely reinforcing the idea that are scojo and this is what is pissing people off.

Fair enough but why not talk up the positives a bit more too, the criticisms so far have been fairly petty and rather inconsequential to the 'bigger picture' of whether this film will be successful or not.
The mass audience won't be focusing on shoulder pad size and if they are, the film's in trouble. You obviously like the banter and being here or you'd be gone by now so please add a bit more to the dialogue and ignore the
digs.

I don't agree with you that I or anyone else should "expect to be treated with disdain" if my or anyone else's first post is criticising aspects of the film > that should be anyone's right to do that as long as these type of forums exist (as long as they're not being downright abusive).
And I have been calm compared to some people and call me paranoid but I think it's certain other people who haven't respected my opinions not the other way round.

No, you started a thread to bad-mouth the film.
What's the title of this thread?
QuoteI don't like the shoulders on the new uniform at all.
You just should have just posted your opinion (that you are fully entitled to) here:http://forums.2000adonline.com/index.php/topic,33873.0.html (http://forums.2000adonline.com/index.php/topic,33873.0.html) , where the stills were originally posted.
It's not your opinion that I have I a problem with. It's that the way you have gone about it expressing it that annoys me.
Ben & Jerry's > Häagen-Dazs
I can't be bothered being annoyed. I just like stirring the stomm.
You bunch of nerds, arguing about shoulder pads in a film that is based on a comic in which a fictitious character wears a uniform that doesn't exist.
How's that? Top class stirring, I'd say. You're damned lucky to have me, you know. His Holiness himself wanted me on the PAPALBULLonline.com forums, but I turned him down for you. For you.

I actually missing some of the crazy this week. I logged on to have a laugh at the the dayglo shoulder pads and they're gone :( I'm not going to mention his name, you know what happens - say his name five times and Candyman comes out of the mirror and shits in your face.
Is ABCwarBot still around or did the MPD meds wipe him out too?
This is getting a bit crazy, locking topic now.
