No problem guys the dial will be set to 4.5 when I attack the final drawing. Thanks for the info Pete I shall hunt this prog down. Was there ever a Mean Machine collection trade ? That would be awesome. 1 copy sold here.

QuoteJim, are we allowed to put up works-in-progress in general?

Are we not ? I did not know, sorry. I do find with art comps it keeps things fun and gives people chances to get feedback and make changes.

Well I managed to squeeze a few hours out of the evening tonight to do a few thumbnails and then the rough sketch for my image for the comp. I hope I have time to finish it by May the 1st at least up to the inks. I decided to capture one of the many moments Dredd encounters mean machine a villian I really like, whatever happened to him ? I m sure some of you wiser more knowledgeable folks know ?

QuoteLet me tell you, when you're ten, SF doesn't actually get any better than that.

It still does not get much better. Great entries Jim. I agree with Zarjazzer both pieces are very much similiar in style to the older strips with nice loose inking and detailing as opposed to the usual tighter, strongly rendered art styles nowadays.

Hi all,my names Anthony (25)  I had a username before years ago but forgot it so I ve a new one. I m a long time browser on the forums so have decided to get involved.  I have been getting 2000ad since the mid nineties. I work in the games industry ( partly 2000ads fault ). I m currently living in the north west, UK. My fav strips are Dredd, Nikolai Dante, Slaine, Rogue Trooper and Sinister Dexter. Of course there are many one offs and shorter running characters/ stories that sit fondly in the depths of the thrill circuits.

Tv that I like consists of Lost, Battlestar Galactica, Two and a half men. My gamertag on PSN and LIVE is nathdevlin in case anyone here is an avid gamer and wishes to test my mediocre skills. You d think I d be good spending all day with a PS3 but surprisingly I m not

Hi Kerrin, yeah I ve drawn Dredd before    I had tried a lot in the mid to late 90's to get a job at 2000ad and failed so I went to art college and got caught up in learning 3d and have ended up working in the games industry. Lately if been going through all my old work and really want to get back into doing more frequent comic pieces. The comp is tempting it all depends on my free time. Thanks for the welcome

I thought this was a fun thing to do so armed with a cup of tea and pencil here is my 15 min wonder. I really liked the diversity of styles and takes on dredd going through the thread.
