Prog / Prog 2236 - A View to a Kill!
« on: 14 June, 2021, 08:25:00 PM »
An all-round excellent prog this week!

There's a cover by Dylan Teague, and a silly Droid Life, and then a new Dredd story by John Wagner and Colin MacNeil, Removal Man, about a hitman with inventive ways of killing people. As always, Wagner's writing is fantastic. Looking forward to seeing how this story turns out. I'm already rooting for the hitman.

More Mechastopheles and Department K -- these are good but I don't really have anything new to say about them since last time.

Chimpsky's Law is fabulous, with the same quirky text boxes we saw last week used to great effect. Genuinely funny and fun.

Feral & Foe II finishes with a seven-page episode, and ends on exactly the right note in my view. I hope there's a third series.

This is a really great, top-notch prog, all five thrills.

What an eye-catching cover!

Another great Niemand Dredd script, with truly outstanding art by Dylan Teague. If there's still time, this should go in the 2000AD Essential Collection. I thought the same thing as Colin about which way the story would go, but this ending is better. And Niemand seems to have taken on board the feedback on this forum about too many happy endings.

Mechastopheles is good. Department K has the best line of dialogue in the prog this week. Feral & Foe takes an interesting turn. And I love the way Chimpsky is written, and the use of the arrows everywhere.

John Wagner is back in Dredd next week, which is excellent news!

It might just be me, but the cover and logo image isn't working. It's just a little box.

That's a shame about Legends, you'd want three issues of Simpson on Batman (or indeed on anything) to be good.

Has Ennis ever written Batman before? (Other than his cameo in Hitman.)

I thought the Anderson story was perfectly alright, if you remember it's meant for younger readers.
Pandora Perfect made me laugh. This should be in every re-gened.
Department K was better than I was expecting. Apparently it's back next week for a series. Will be interesting to see what direction it goes in next.

that Planet of Death thingie (can't remember the title) was absolute genius!
That was great, it should have been given its own strip!

That just links to their Facebook page, not to anything specific, what were you trying to say?
