Well, looks like Nay's silence suggests not reading anymore. My insults were wasted.

Nay is my friend, so I am allowed to slag him off. I told him about this board once, then he started checking up on it all the time and taking the piss. I'm not sure if he's still reading this at work; but I thought a pre-emptive strike would be in keeping with the global climate.

Nay, if you still read this board, piss off out of it, eh, mate? Nobody wants you here.

I just realised yesterday that Mr Bones in Dredd / Aliens is the same bloke that was in the story about Judge Praeger. Nice bit of continuity there. just thought i'd share it with you all.

Had to work till midnight, but I hit the boozer after work (it was a friend's birthday, to boot). Very mellow Paddy's day for once; last year I was on an island in the west of Ireland getting pished. The parade was very Wickerman-esque.

Sorry, I meant that the Predator crossover was written by Wagner, not the sentence that preceded the words 'and that was written by Wagner'.

'You're really rather spoiling our fun by displaying some actual writing talent, you do know that don't you? '
Yes, I genuinely think that the Dredd / Aliens thingy is kicking the shit out of the Dredd / Predator crossover of a few years back, not just in art but in script too - and that was written by Wagner. I also like the way current issues are still being reflected in true Dredd tradition - aliens as terror weapons etc. Nice one!

Sorry to be a pain in the swiss roll, but did that Apocalypse War thingy ever turn up when you cleared out your room? If not, no worries, I won't pester you about it again.
Cheers!

Fair play. I really enjoyed TPO, and never realised until I read it how many near-death experiences 2000ad has had. Any chance of a similar series of articles about the Megazine? It seems to have survived by the absolute skin of its teeth.

Here is a suggestion that I have previously, er, suggested on this board:
Feck Sinister Dexter, they're boring and silly and should be done away with. But keep Downlode. Downlode is cool, with a sleazy but hi-tech Euro personality all of its own. One of my favourite stories ever to come out Downlode was the one where Nervous Rex goes to the Syn funeral - excellent. 'Scrubbers' was good too, in an sort of completely out of place in 2000ad but who gives a shite kind of way, and the one where Telemachus Gore (was that his name?) lost his job. Much, much better than most Sinister Dexter stories, which have run out of steam a long time ago.

Sorry to hear it. Strangely, mine died the Saturday before last too (it lived with my folks, though, so I didn't see it that much before it died). Believe me, I know it's rough to see the little guys pass away.

Ooh, it's a tough one. More than anything else, I draw loads and paint the odd mural (sometimes even making a v. small amount of money out of it!) I also go swimming and go kind of hill-walking (which usually ends in going back down and drinking), I read as much as I can (not really that sci-fi, though). I used to read a lot about art history and stuff, but I got bored with it. Apart from the obligatory films and music, that's it.

I watched about half of it, and started falling asleep (the film seemed good, but I was absolutely cream-crackered).

'As far as I can recall, there is no Death penalty for citizens - in the earliest progs, even crimes like Judge Killing were only punishable by isocube time. '
It wasn't always the case. Some of the apes from Apetown, for example, were given the death sentence during peacetime. And Alan Grant often seems to think Dredd hands out death sentences and interrogations with torture left, right and centre, but I don't believe him.
