Finally managed to buy this prog yesterday, and then got my first sub this morning - so it's twice as thrilling.

Dredd - great opener, and Flint is one of my favourites.

Cabs - this has never really done it for me, and particularly not the Hammer Horror theme, so I'm glad it's over. Giving someone a big gun and a funny accent doesn't count as characterisation in my book.

Asylum - great art, where's the plot?

Robohunter - weaker episode this week, but the whole Samantha Slade thing is working well. Gibson either seems to go for superb micro-detailed backgrounds or none at all, but I'll take the whiteouts to get the body expo pictures.
And can anyone explain - what use is a robotic cigar?

SD - excellent stuff, but distracting continuity issues: why does Wulf stop in the middle of running to the rescue to put his longjohns on?

And the Dreddcon plug, just to rub it in if you've started a new job and can't get the time off.

Thanks, Trout. Looks like mail order is the new order. I used to live 5 mins from the comics shop in Swansea, and it's one of the things I miss most.

I went into the Dundee shop a while back, and they certainly are creepy.

?121? (chokes)

I'm supposed to be saving money by living out in the sticks. Still, needs must.

I've just moved from the city (Swansea - good comics shop, plenty of newsagents) to Scotland (Fife), and as well as having my regular comics supply cut off, it's a tooth dead zone! How do people manage here? WHS (the only local stockist)don't get their delivery till *Thursdays*, and when I mentioned the Meg, they shook their heads and claimed never to have seen it.

Subs here I come.

(And they have this weird thing called 'early closing'. How 50s.)

OK - a quick intro to what I've been bottling up while lurking:

We need more real aliens in comics. Sin/Dex is crud. A strip with a talking cigar in it is an insult to the intelligence. VCs is much better than people make out. Too many six- or eight- episode strips are over-stretched and run out of steam after two or three episodes. Asylum - what's the point?

Hi everyone! I've been lurking for a while, but the Trout has flushed me out of hiding.

I'm all dizzy - one minute you're lurking quietly, drifting along with the flow, the next Trout outs you and you're iconed-up and posting!

Thanks Cybermax

Cybermax, any chance of an icon for me too? Here's a suitably feridian-like image.
