It couldn't be Matt Dixon could it? His Heavy Metal work looks slightly similar to this but then again so does James Rymans. Puzzling indeed!

So if I went out and bought MangaDebut - could I produce decent comics with it? Obviously, I need to apply the talent, but I mean technically speaking, is it realistic? I'm seriously considering purchaisng this for Christmas, and there's no way I can afford Ex 4 at the moment. Advice please fellas?

Manga 4.0 is probably the best (and cheapest) Digital software available so tell Santa you've been good.

of the Civil War raging at work. Caught in the middle. Know what a Falais pocket was? Well I feel I'm on the recieving end of a rocket firing Typhoon. Not a lot of fun but zero I can do about it. I don't see any compromise either. Endure it I guess. :'(

Having heard some of the board going on about Pentel Brush pens I decided to get one and here's the result.

pencil and pentel brush pen on bristol board.

Great pic flip-r mk2 a traditionally rendered Dreddy! Someone mentioned that actor Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith from the Matrix) might be in the running to play  Dredd and there's something in the way you drew this that reminds me of him. Genius!

Now, I only really play singleplayer - online deathmatch style games bore me stupid - but I don't understand the popularity of Call of Duty at all. The campaign mode is average at best - there are far better FPS games out there - and those really pretentious interlude bits like the nuclear explosion or the night-vision bombing bits in COD4 really get on my nerves.

Maybe online it's really amazing, but offline is hugely overrated. I'm completely mystified as to how it's become the biggest gaming franchise in the world.

Perhaps all these Soldier Sim type games are really preparing the nations youth for the shock of being drafted.  :-*

that's brilliant.

Thank you very much, Jock! Ah, PJ is far smarter than the rest of us though and Cristov is a wiz with Photoshop.

I think the price of the tablet or phone is bound to put some people off but I think it's a great idea. If I recall corretly there was a few discussions in the media a few years ago about 'convergence' where your phone was also your computer/camera/entertainment player all wrapped into one.

It does all seem to be rolling into one multifunction device so maybe the digital frontier is the future for aspiring comic creaters/artists and illustrators to exploit.

Wasn't there a boom in the late eighties/early ninties that sort of coincided with new technologies for computer colouring and new artists like Todd Mcfarlane and Jim Lee?

It's the Vogun constructer fleet coming to demolish the Earth. (Douglas Adams rules ko?.) :)
