Creative Common / Collab work
12 May, 2013, 07:45:32 PM
Just wondering if anyone around here is interested in some collaboration? I'm particularly looking for an artist(s) to work on ideas with but wouldn't turn away any fellow writers either. Sometimes two heads can be better than one.

From an artists point of view I do understand that it might not seem worth their while unless payment is involved but surely it could only benefit both parties to have something else to show in your portfolio?

Either way... I'm just keen to try working on something with someone, my ieeas or yours!

Hey all,

Been wondering about this for a while and thought it might make a good discussion:

Say you've got your great story and you intend to go down the independent publishing route. The story is big enough to be split into say, ten 22 page monthly issues or you could just put it out as a one shot graphic novel.

What's best?

I suppose there's a few factors to consider, not least printing/publishing costs. But there's people on here who have had their work published and have taken on the goliath that is small press so those brave people would be well placed to be able to give us some opinions/advice/experiences.

Not really sure what name this place officially goes by It has one sign saying Toys Inc and another sayign WHO, but I found it just along from the winter gardens in Blackpool.

It's awesome! Packed with oldskool toys from my childhood and beyond! I was geeking out on the Ghostbusters and Turtles stuff!

Film & TV / Bruce Clap
05 May, 2012, 03:19:03 PM
Hope nobody minds this bit of shameless plugging...

Bruce Clap is the main character in a Youtube series some friends and I are working on. Bruce is a delusional talent agent. He claims to be the man behind such acts as Phil Collins and the Chuckle Brothers. Add to the mix his equally odd bodyguard Oscar (aka Andy) and it's really a case of the blind leading the blind. The finished series will be in the style of a mocumentary following Bruce and Oscar's misadventures.

We've uploaded some test footage:

The third one seems to have gone down the best. Also, if this sort of thing is your cup of tea then please "like" the facebook page! www.facebook.com/bruceclap

Cheers guys!

Games / Black Ops 2

Saw the reveal trailer for this the other day. I'm not sure about it. I loved the original Black Ops but this looks a little too futuristic for Call of Duty.

Creative Common / Another new writer
03 May, 2012, 10:08:46 PM
Hi everyone.

I've recently submitted a Future Shock script to the green one. It's actually my first comic script submission. I put a lot of effort in and feel I did something fairly smart and maybe a little bit different to what I'd assume is the norm. So here's hoping! But in all honesty I'm not daft! I know it's not that easy! I'd be over the moon with just some pointers about how I could improve! Anything on top of that is a mega bonus!

I've written stuff for as long as I can remember. Mostly I write comedy sketches and screenplays, I'm actually just getting started on an independent Youtube series with Characters a friend and I have been messing about with for nearly six years! We've only posted test footage so far, but it seems to be coming together!

But I've always loved comics! I jumped into 2000ad somewhere in the 900s when I was around 9 or 10. I've jumped in and out ever since. I'd love to be able to get some stuff published in the future. Seeing your story come to life in art form must be a fantastic feeling!  :D
