Ordering from the online shop

Not sure if this is the right place for making suggestions about the shop, but is there any chance of getting some kind of email alert sent out when an order goes in the post? Maybe I've been spoilt by shopping at Amazon, but it would be nice to know when something has been posted. This way I know when to get excited and can start looking forward to getting my order, or I can start getting worried that it's got lost in the post.

On a slight tangent here -- what sort of packaging does the online shop use for trades? Cardboard or jiffies?
