I think there is a more fundamental question beyond what format Regened should take and that is: “is there actually a viable market for it?”.

And sadly I’m pretty much convinced the answer is no.

I’m primarily basing that conclusion on:

i) my own experience with my 11 year old son, who loves Star Wars, MCU, Harry Potter, Alex Rider, Dogman, Captain Underpants, Ultimate Spider-man comics, Lego Star Wars comics and and a few other things, but has precisely zero interest in reading 2000AD. And that is despite enjoying a previous Regened issue and Spacewarp - but he never asks me to give him more to read.

ii) Spacewarp, which was specifically launched as an all ages comic and a year later we are still waiting for the second issue. So I can only assume it hasn’t been a great success. But there may me other issues at play here to do with accessibility and distribution - I see issue one is about to go physically into shops.

General / Re: Class art better than Current art - it's official!!!!

Here’s the thing. There were 4 artists scoring points for the current team who have been round long enough to be classed as classic artists, except they are still drawing for the Prog.

If they had been on the classic team, the classic team would have had a comfortable margin of victory (rather than a narrow one).

(And 3 or 4 others who lost there ties.)

Not to prejudge a tournament, but my money's on Team Current to win the Solheim Cup quite comfortably. And that's even if one might consider listing P. Mills as a 'Team Classic' ringer, at least in 2021. Will you be doing that?

Yeah I think the qualification for being “current” or “classic” is going to be key here.

Will Wagner and Mills be counted as current or classic?

We could also get strange situations where Pat is classed as classic, but loses votes for his more recent stuff. Which would be a bit mad.

Robinson 3
Ranson 2

Roach 5 nil

Culbard 5 nil

Another one sided match up for me.

Davis 5 nil.

Megazine / Re: Subbie voucher for the 2K shop?

You get the badges and the audio plays ( as a dual physical subscriber anyway).

Mine hadn’t shown up, nor had the web shop voucher. A quick query via the web shop and they sorted it out immediately.

I have kinda warmed to Williams’s cartoony style, especially on the VCs.

But you know, it’s Henry Flint, a man who can do no wrong; we are just blessed to have him in the Prog, evoking the best of McMahon and O’Neill whist doing his own thing.

5 nil to Henry.

Staz 2 : 3 Cam

Winslade is great; Gibbons is a legend. It would have been great to have had more from him for longer in the Prog.

Winslade 2 : 3 Gibbons

Higgins 5 nil

Just because it’s Carlos, does it mean he has to win every time?

Richard Elson has become one of my very favourites and he seems to be a perfect match to Dan Abnett’s scripts. He has two stories that are his alone. There are not many of Tharg’s artists who can say that.

Can the man who brought us the Stainless Steel Rat, Fiends of the Eastern Front, Al’s Baby, Cursed Earth Koburn and Spectre compete with that? (There’s possibly a couple of other strips I’ve overlooked there 😉).

Elson 2 : 3 Carlos

AND both their names end in an ‘N’…

Er sorry….what?

Possibly my second favourite ever artist here. Nothing against Clint who seems to be a very decent chap based on the chat I had with him at the 40th, but you know it’s Fabry and so:

Glenn takes it 4-1

(I have to give Clint a point as I did buy some art from him).

A difficult one to decide.

3-2 to Tiernan
