Well just finished the three Al Baby story and while it dosn't offer anything new it was still fun. This one seemed to be treading water a little. It is however a shame that there's no book 4 (this is right?) as elevating Alo to Godfather may have made for an interesting story rather than just a cute ending?

The site has the game listed as £50 (or near enough) wow that's expensive... well probably not these days but it surprised me. I loved Blood Bowl even if I was a bit rubbish at it. I always wanted to get a Skraven team to work but never mastered the best strategies for them!

This is hilarious. I didn't know what this thread was all about but it contained the words "photoshop" and "tennis", two things I know nothing about, so I was staying away from it until curiousity got the better of me just now!

For me that's the point. Mega City 1 shouldn't be like any city on Earth as at its heart is radically different to any city that currently exists. Its bigger, more choatic, more random and the structures and citizen's crazier.

When represented best it feels thrown together which in a sense it has been. It came about as people flocked together for protection after a war deverstated America and hence its evolved out of necessity rather than grow and developed as a normal city might or at a normal rate.

I've always considered it a giant shanty town, sure it got bigger, better buildings but when boiled down its still people and their environments and infrastructure are thrown together and its slowly organising itself over time.

The Judges almost reflect this. At first they were there out of necessity. A strict order was required to cope with the choas that was all around them. As the world comes back to order there are changes and democracy and more liberal views are slowly coming to the fore but the events that created the city and its systems were so dramatic and the upheaval so great that the change towards anything approaching political life as we know it is going to take a long long time, if its ever achieved or indeed desired. I think the city should reflect this.

Wow that was a bit of a stream of consiousness!

Other than Mikey and me, you mean?    Still, bears repeating, and you're spot on re: the details in the architecture.  Shades of the Monkey House in Button Man I!  Plus, fossilised Ankylosaur skin, what more could any sane person want?

Ha well yeah obivously I meant aside from you two...??? I wonder what new exciting bit of my brain decided to edit out any reference to what I was scanning posts for then... where's that other thread about us all being mutants I think I found my mutant power...

Surprised no one's mentioned the Natural History Museum yet. Its a fantastic and enlightening place. If anybody goes there I can't recommend enough looking at the building itself its a great bit of architecture and has some fantastic little surprises carved into the stone work.

The British Museum is also wonderful.

Last time my wife and I went down there we avoided the Tates as we always go there and explored a couple of other Galleries. The Hayward Gallery was fantastic and had an Anthony Gormley display which was quite superb. Not sure its still there but it was a great gallery anyway. Also the National Portrait Gallery which is excellent too.

I've been asked that a couple of times recently. Apparently PJ Holden thought it was a big up to NWA BUT its actually You'll Never Walk Alone. Which is either an obsure reference to Invasion and Robusters, me showing my love of musicals OR a reference to years of following Liverpool Football Club.

Well Tharg mentioned it in a response to a letter I've just read, well actually it might have been during those Vector 13 issues (why oh why so limiting but I digress) its was defo stated somewhere in issues 1020 or 1030ish in 1997. Not sure what's changed since then?
