At last someone with a sensible point of veiw..

i agree entirely with everything you have posted and my aim is not to cause another flamewar but to try and understand why there is such a dislike to what i assume at the time was an attempt at a fun action movie that just happend to be based on a Comic Book Character, im new to 2000AD after all im a movie person not a comic person so its an understanding or perhaps educating i need.

my aim is not to be ridiculed and vilified

well yes i guess my original post was a little on the sacastic side, however i cannot believe youd be so naive as to believe that the Movie is total Crap, and the comics are the be all and end all of all that is Judge Dredd.

to discuss this in a civilised manner seems beyond some of you, you fail to understand that the fan of the movie doesnt have to be the all knowing god of Judge Dredd.
The Comic is one entity the movie another both totally different and good in their own rights.
Are you blind to see the Movie was never meant to be True to the Comic Book character, i guess not you have your head stuck in that comic book.

Books & Comics / Im After A specific Comic

Many years ago i had a 2000ad comic that unfortunately was thrown out.

I cannot remember the actual name of the edition but id love to get hold of it again if possible.

The opening Pages were all about an eating competition where by these huge Contestants were wheeled in and had a contraption fitted to them down which food flowed, i cant remember much else about the comic but those first few pages seem to stick in my mind.

Does anyone remember or perhaps even own a copy and if so can you tell what the edition number was or the name of the comic please

Yes ive seen that before and for a fan made costume its very good.

Our Armour will be made of Fibre Glass etc and hopefully Vac metalised (if we can ever find an affordable source).

The Helmet we have is made from Fibre glass also and is movie accurate sized we also have the pattern for the Movie used Cloth work and found the actual source of the material used too.

The reason we have gone with the movie Costume is we have spent The last few years making molds based on the Movie Costume.

One of the guys i am doing this project with was actually an Extra/Stunt man in the movie.

I suppose its all down to personal preference I actually do like the movie version of the costume.

Hi Guys,
New here. I hope this is ok for me to do this but myself and another couple of guys are embarking on a project for 2007 to complete Judge Dredd Costumes from movie.
We have Molds of the Movie used Helmet and Armour and the Pattern for all the cloth work used in the movie and we are extremely excited about the project. our aim is to have a unique Judge Dredd Costuming Club up and running by March 2007.
We also have our own Forum that is very much in its infancy and we are hoping  to move to a better more secure server in the future, we have lots of topic areas available for use, all the forum needs is like minded Dredd Fans to join up, we also need a couple of Forum admin Staff especially with superior knowledge in the 2000ad Comic area (if interested please apply via the forum).

We are very serious about the costuming side of things and we plan to have costume Items available to buy in the new year.

All the best and pop along and join us (please be patient with the rough format)
