I`ve just reread prog 1.  I`m going to work my way through all my progs and Graphic Novels, digital archives etc to the present.
nb prog 1 is good stuff, in spite of not having Dredd.  I can`t believe they thought calling Russians Volgans would fool anyone (although they got to have a skull flag).

big reread sounds kewl.... non stop thrill power

Oddboy

I've been doing this for over a year now... I've got to the late 800s & still going.

When it's good it's GOOD, but when it's the late 800s it's BAD.
Better set your phaser to stun.

Theres knothing like going back and re-reading the classics.Mid 1980s was a cool time to be a reader.

I started my reread with prog 589 a few months back.  I finished progs 1024-1027 last night and am finding thrillpower in abundance.  There was a really nifty Vector 13 with gorgeous, stark Sean Phillips art which I had completely forgotten.

I need less than 30 progs now,and when I get them I'm doing the BIG reread,I'm calling it The Prog Odyssey : )

Wake

Why not add your wants list to the classifieds page? I have a complete collection to sell (minus a few progs with Arthur Ranson stories which are already booked, plus I'm hanging on to 1-313 for the immediate future).

im on prog 10, just started a couple of days ago, really enjoying harlrm heroes and mach 1, im just after finishing a marathon action battle/action reread and im all actunged out so some 2000ad is a welcome change!

Floyd-the-k

I don`t have the late 800s but the 900s was pretty cool (apart from such drekk as Soul Gun Assassin, anything by Shaky 2000, most of Mambo, Parasites and I can`t think of anything else right now).
The big reread is fun but it`s hard not to get impatient. I finished my last reread doing three progs a day.  Now I`m trying for restraint, to savour the experience so just reading one a day.
Prog 2 - lots of fun!  Dredd makes his appearance.  Did the Devils Island, mid highway prison ever come back?

cheers,

Floyd

Dunno if it's still going, but Devils Island (and Whitey) did turn up a few more stories. IIRC Progs 31, 520, and the 78 Annual.

La Mer

im in the mid 700's now......
suddenly realised how much tastes change.
Artists - glen fabry, the biz, kev walker(his abc warriors is way coool, cam kennedy, nigel dobbin (still love his stront work)
And i still havent changed my mind on the fact that shakey kane is a kirby rip-off without the talent, and that steve sampson shouldnt be let near another tooth story ever again... photo realism? nah, mate you just couldnt draw original work.....

satchmo

thanks Wake, but all the ones I need are in that 1-313 category. I need the 4 banned Dredds and various progs between 30 and 100.I'll get my arse in gear and get it sorted, the Prog Odyssey is calling me...

Trout

Devil's Island and Whitey returned together.

He escaped twice, IIRC, the second time to be killed by Dredd in a badge-throwing ninja death star moment.

If memory serves, it was for one of the aniversary progs - either 15th of 20th.

I started my big reread earlier this year. Currently (stuck whilst reading a few other things) on Prog 119.
Personally I think it gets better around Prog 70 (or whenever Sam Slade hits the progs- then it pretty much rocks!)
Cheers
