I was on a treadmill at the gym when, all of a sudden, I stopped hearing through my left ear. The only noise from it was loud, bad, tinnitus. I went to the docs a few days later (hey, I am a Glaswegian male and I could stll breathe) and was urgently referred to hospital. A bit of a shock, because I assumed it was ear wax. After an emergency set of tests, the doc there was puzzled. This was a Friday night. I was given an appointment for a consultant's clinic the following Monday (I might have been going deaf, but that was no reason to interrupt his golf). THing is, the whole thing cleared up on the Sunday night as quickly as it started. Did I feel a tube sitting through the tests on the Monday, saying "Actually, it's ok. Yes I hear that. Yes I hear that. And so on"

baggsie be lyricist:

Let me tell you the tale of Gandalf the Grey,
He held all the hobbits in his sway,
"Frodo," he said, "you have a magic ring,
and a steel shaft aptly called sting"

"Piss of," said Frodo. "I think you're..."

Still being in my twenties (just) I suggest this is more to do with you all being old farts.

Or, more sensibly, perhaps I am feeling the effects less because I was exposed to thrill power at a younger age. Perhaps my immunity will wear off in the next few years?

I see from the current poll it is returning. Is it? When? Who's writing it? Who's the artist? Should I be working?

If you want to ask me a question during my tenure as BB, please post to this thread. Unless I'm stealing someone else's thunder here, that is.

You can start it when you like, at any time between noon today and 5pm today. It must run for 48 hours.

There is to be one thread, subject: "BB Task 1". Any messages posted by a housemate on ANY other thread (by accident or otherwise) or in the chatroom will not count towards the task.

You have a problem with that? Think of the prizes!

On reflection, though, I'll reduce it to 48 hours. If it helps, the start can be at 5pm tonight. That way you can arrange it with your fellow housemates, and finish on Thursday so that Friday can be eviction day.

One post by one housemate every ten minutes.

Sort it out amongst yourselves. Do a rota. Take an hour each and agree to do one six posts. Frankly, Big Brother doesn't care how you do it.

But that's the task.

OK, fine - start today then. You saw through my cunning plan to get a prize.

From today until Friday GMT for the postings.
