Here's three hints: (a) it should have been off topic; (b) Mr Rennie should get it, but won't like it; (c) it's parochial, but I don't care

If any one gets the chance, could you pick me up a copy of prog 1163? I can't find one for love (actually, I haven't tried that) nor money.

Please? Prutty please?

Glad someone else agrees! I said to Mrs X, Neo is basically God. Why doesn't he turn his hands into fists of flame, or just go all Belgarath on their ass and tell them to "be not", or control their minds, or turn his hands into nuclear missile launchers etc etc etc.

No, he has the power to warp reality - but all he does is a bit of kung fu.

And did anyone notice (SPOILER) that no one gets shot or actually dies a violent death on screen? Wozzat all about?

I thought it was overlong pants that indulged in the technology it had to hand rather than cocentrated on telling a story. One, non spoiler, example: Neo gets in a fight with lots of others and, after what felt like ten minutes of fancy camera angles, flies away. Why not do that right away?

And I was also annoyed at the gratutious use of scenes so obviously desgined for home cinemas - how many times do we need a loud scence ending in silence and glass/ ice/ water falling to the floor? Again, just self indulgent pandering.

And the Italian chick with the outrageously low cut dress isn't on the screen enough.

All in all? You disappoint me, Mr Anderson.

Who would I have for dinner?

1. The Gronk
2. Grobbeldonk (may be gristly)
3. Any stookie
4. Root from The Dead (for the veggies)
5. Tweak
6. One of the cute teddy things from Dredd that went "Chee" and were basically Tribbles.

Just a picky, anal point - surely a judge's respirator only acts as a gas mask? If so, why did it need to be damaged in the story? Even if it worked it wouldn't have let Dredd breathe underwater.

Sorry - I try to avoid these sad fanboy type points.

The more I think about it, the more disturbed I am by the fact that Larf knew where to get that picture.

Necroposting the Greatest Thread Ever?

Surely not. IS there a thread more relevant to 2000ad?

Another pubic service before I go.

(I'm a bit disturbed that only Proudhuff and I seem keen to keep this thread alive)

Following this thread should be compulsary. Devon's Daddy could add it to his greeting messages: "Hi, welcome to the site. Semi-clad women are just down there to your left. Watch out for Alan Cumming."
