Just too add my thanks as well, Colin. There were some real "Daddy or Chips?" moments when it came to choosing between writers. Cheers.

Glad to hear of your good news, SBT. It's nice to hear of something good happening in the world in these times. (And as regards your course, the even better news is that you'll have a few fossils on this forum to experiment with - myself included.  :) ) All the best! - Paddy Kafka

But at least we still can enjoy the sheer artistry of the first three books?

(I) YOU KNOW WHO?

(II) YOU KNOW WHY?

and who can forget those last emotional frames of

(III) YOU KNOW WHERE ?

Prog / Re: Prog 2188: Chronoclysm!

I'm gradually starting to catch up on my back progs now, as the comic shop guys with whom I have a standing order are getting back to normal and they are managing to restock on back progs. Not their fault at all. Just something to do with distribution and postal problems...or something like that. To be honest I lost track of what they were saying, as I was so excited to get the first four back progs into my excited little mitts.  :)

Submitted without comment. I mean...what can you possibly say? Have to admit. I was stumped...

Freaks on Netflix.

Pretty good, I could imagine this as a Welcome to the 2000AD Online Forum.*

Fixed that for ya. "We Will Make You One Of Us...."

So difficult to choose from. (Could we have a Top Twenty list next, please?)  :D

1:    Nikolai Dante
2:    Buttonman
3:    Stickleback
4:    Carver Hale
5:    Glimmer Rats
6:    Absalom
7:    Cabalistics
8:    Lobster Random
9:    Low-Life
10:  Jaegir

Darn! Was just thinking about one of my most favourite ever Tooth stories: Reefer Madness  (Prog 1263). It still makes me chuckle to this day. As with all of the other pics in my top ten, my main reason for including them - aside from the obvious script, art, colouring and lettering merits - is that the characters and plots still resonate with me. So it is with great regret that I have to bid farewell to Carver Hale - "An honest dilemma, Guv!" - and replace him instead with Terror Tales (above all else for Reefer Madness).

So my final revised choice is as below. Really. I mean it this time. Absolutely no more changing my mind. Ever...

1:    Nikolai Dante
2:    Buttonman
3:    Stickleback
4:    Terror Tales
5:    Glimmer Rats
6:    Absalom
7:    Cabalistics
8:    Lobster Random
9:    Low-Life
10:  Jaegir

You know that you're getting on in years, when you're twice as old as the combined age of two of the other members of the D&D group that you're in. (And I'm talking people in their 20's here... :( )

So you're in your eighties?  I generally think of other boarders as being about five years older than me unless they say otherwise.  I'm pretty surprised when I find out somebody's much younger or older...

My quote should of course have read "...as old as the combined age..." minus the "twice" placed beforehand. (Grud, no! It's happening already!!! Once my previosh and hairto wunderfiil gifs 4 the yoooshe of languarjes has beegun to dimmmin.....fannish....go away, den dat's when ittt's time to kwit...

At least you have a D&D group.

This is true. (Or at least up to the point when they have to start pushing me around in a bath chair).

Or to put it another way,  we're old.

TBH I'm getting that a hell of a lot.  The number of times one of my colleagues responds with .. "but I was only born in ..." is getting bloody depressing.  Mind you, having to explain the Cold War or the Warsaw Pact does tend to generate other feelings ...

I don't know, am I getting jaded and cynical in my old age?   :(

I hate to be the one to have to tell you, Tjm86, but this is your inevitable future. (Though if it's any consolation, I'll most likely the be same...)  ;)
