Not quite the same thing but I'm simultaneously amused and annoyed by the fact that the 1994 Judge Dredd Mega Special ran a readers poll to choose a new series for the Megazine and the results were completely ignored in favour of two pre-commissioned strips instead.

Proper order. Give the people what you think they need, not what they think they want. The latter way of thinking leads to Angel Family resurrections and boobs on the cover.

THis ^^^^

I never cut up my progs for this or anything else,  What was Pat's take on these anyway?

Niemamd definitely developing a stable of characters

Lets hope that they are used and not left hanging in the wind like some 'other' writers do  :)

Well that was nice, the Meg popped onto my doorstep on Saturday, a first for a long time, maybe a return to precovid deliveries?

A good read, Dredd a fine slice of MC1 madness and Devlin excellent fun, who'd have thought a Demon Dildo would take up so much of the Megazine?

The other tales aren't really to my liking but that's the way of these things

(As a complete aside, even after all these years I remain astonished at the scale of houses depicted in US TV, even where the characters are specifically established as working-class poor barely surviving).

Back in the 90s I remember reading about the "End of History", as various academics and analysts believed that the post-cold-war centrist liberal consensus would continue indefinitely and lead to the end of conflict. There was no longer any major ideological battles to be fought.

The one thing that is certain about the future is that our ideas are wildly wrong.

I remember LOL the first time I heard that theory, the arrogance of it was astounding.

Cheers Dawg, too kind.
I was really looking forward to Thoughtbubble this year and seeing everyone at the Futurequake table, hopefully we can celebrate Bolt’s life and contribution in some way there?

so so sorry to hear this, Dave made everyone, even me, welcome at Cons, he encouraged, nurtured and cajoled art and stories out of so many of us. I remember one Con getting a row(ish) from him the next day as I'd said I#d come alone for the previous evening's meal and didn't, Christ! how did he even notice in that melee? A lovely lovely man.
My deepest condolences to his wonderful family and you Rich, get in touch if you need to rant, bubble or go radge.

Poisoned by P.J. Maybe (disguised as a nun*), Dredd on his deathbed fires his lawgiver out of the window to find the spot where he should be buried but keeps hitting perps instead.

Get that man an unconvincing pseudonym and a regular slot on Dredd.
