Nintendo Wii Ad

Anyone seen the Wii ad? What the hell are they doing it looks like an attempt to create "mystery" surrounding the system by showing the Wii remote and posing a stupid question. I hope the situation improves or it will be another faux par Nintendo style. Doh!

Uh, it's a teaser (in fact, it's the exact same teaser that ran in Japan & has now been replaced with game trailers).

The first batch of full Wii ads have now started appearing in the US, and I'm expecting those - or something similar - to hit here in the next couple of weeks.

Why don't they pronounce it w'aye' rather than w'ee' which makes it sond like pish?

...because they're going for something unusual and are playing on the "We/Wii" to suggest inclusivity - "Wii Would Like To Play", "Wii Move You" etc.

Doesn't stop the jokes, but I've been quite surprised how quickly even relatively mainstream outlets have moved on from them - the odd name still gets a mention, but just a brief one.

Slightly off topic but...the reviews are coming in for zelda!

I was wondering when the game to knock Ocarina of Time off the top of the gamerankings list would come.

Looks like Zelda will be at numbers one and two!

I think Nintendo should be applauded for attempting something innovative, rather than just copying what the competition are doing.
I'm totally tired of generic first person shooter #3m and look forward to a new interactive gaming style.

There's a Wii roadshow touring round the country at the mo. Its on a Bluewater today and tomorrow - might go and check it out. If I do I'll give my opinion of it here.

The release date is set for dec 8th and some very interesting boxes have appeared at my department store of doom... (I bet they're all window-related empty ones though) Frankly I'm more tempted by those pink ps2s

New EDGE gives Zelda 9/10. Haven't read it yet but they are very fond of their extravegant Zelda reviews and a 9 equals brilliant.

9/10? Sounds impressive. I don't know wether to buy a Wii for Zelda or buy it on the Gamecube since I own one. I've heard the only difference between the two are technical(controller wise). If Super Mario Galaxy was released this Chrimbo, I definitely would buy one!

Already Im sick of "It borrows too much from Ocarina" style excuses for not giving it full marks. For some reason if nintendo DONT revolutionise gaming they get criticised. Didnt Edge give Half-life 2 10? Wasnt that just Half life with prettier graphics...? Can any FPS ever be original enough to get a 10? Only Metroid:Prime, and that got 9. Bah!

10 for Goldeneye. More you put into it, the more you get out. That game really should be updated. Even if the original team who worked on it have bogged off.
