General / Re: Judgement Day follow-up..........

Yes!

It was "Feeders and Eaters" that I was trying to think of. Parents, not girlfriend as I thought, but that's the one alright.

Thanks so much for that: It was driving me mad trying to think what it was.

Thanks for that. I just checked out "The Kinda Dead Man", though, and that's not the one I was thinking of.

The one I vaguely recall involved a wife/girlfriend, not a bloke being zombified in the street.

Of course, my mind might just be playing tricks on me.

General / Judgement Day follow-up
13 January, 2008, 07:44:54 PM
I vaguely remember reading a sort of follow-up one-off to Judgement Day. A woman whose husband was a reanimated zombie, "living" in their apartment. I think it was in the Megazine sometime fairly recently (last five years?)

Anybody recognise it and know the title/issue number?

On that web site, they sell the individual figures, erm, individually. For the same price as they are in a "collection pack", pretty much (i.e. they're a fiver each and a collection pack of eight is forty quid, though there's a slight variation with the larger slaine beign £12.50 rather than £10, for instance, which makes buying him in a pack slightly cheaper).

So you could pick and choose, rather than buying a pack at a time.

Then again, I'd never spend as much as a fiver on an unpainted bit o'lead myself anyways. So that's just me being gratuitously helpful, is that.

The Chinese appear to have invented a primitive Aggrodome.

Tharg is prescient indeed.

Burglary is a horrible thing to happen to anybody, regardless of wheelchair-ability.

Incidentally, I think he's a bit off on the value of a signed picture of Scotty, judging from eBay. About forty quid seems more like the going rate, not six hundred.

Prog / Re: Prog 1494 - In Dangerous Hands...

I feel that a major point has been lost in the discussion of this week's Dredd finale (both here and on the 2000ADReview site, where I just posted the following):

To my mind, Dredd's sentence, or lack of one, is down to the line on the final page: "Besides, you lost *family*"

pre-Vienna's return, Dredd had no family to speak of (or to speak to). Rather than being out of character to not sentence this perp, I reckon it's very pointedly signalling a shift in his character, as shown earlier when he raced to specifically rescue Vienna in "Total War".

I noticed the reference to a Winter Special too.

We've not had one of those in years, and I'm quite looking forward to it. Presumably subscribers will get a little note, like with the Extreme Editions, saying "Do you want to buy it as well?"

"That one now belongs to me...*huzzah*"

What, even if this bloke's "having someone run them off for him."? ;-)

Any idea where it comes from, though? It's not arrived yet (obviously - I only just won the auction), but it looks like Bolland Dredd from the picture.

I was thinking of hanging it down the side of the wardrobe in the spare room. It would *just* fit there.

But was it a movie-related promotion? Was it done by IPC/Fleetway/Maxwell/Whoever owned 2000AD at that time?

Most of his stuff seems to be metal signs, actually. The only other thing I can see like this Dredd thingy is this Tank Girl one:

Oh, and I know it's polyester, not silk, but never mind. ;-)

I just bought this on impulse on eBay

I have no idea why I bought it - it just cried out to me. But anyways, anyone have any idea where these things came from? Was it publicity around the movie or what?

Suggestions / Re: Megazine Playing Cards gift......
05 April, 2005, 08:19:17 AM
Just one thing to add:

This deck of cards is the best free gift in 28 years of the prog and the megazine. They're lovely, they're decent quality and I'm actually likely to use them, rather than just leave them stuck to the front of the comic.

Whoever decided to give this as the gift, kudos to you.
