Website and Forum / Can moderators change thread titles?
04 December, 2013, 07:12:13 PM
Just wondering if moderators can fix thread titles as I put the wrong year in this title (should be 2013 instead of 2014). Thanks if you can...

I threatened to start a thread about Raspberry Pi so here it is! Know a few board members had dabbled with home programming before, anyone chanced their arm on a Raspberry Pi yet?

..and they are turning to crowdfunding to help them out:

Kickstarter page

Hard to say if they will hit the target, I've seen boardgames and miniatures games raise over a million dollars but will comics buyers stump up?

Not a fan of it but it'll be another big hit for Vertigo with it's current flagship title ending:

Bleeding Cool has the news.

Right, important matters first: No number on spine (I can't remember if the first one had or not).

The copyright information is printed inside the front cover to pack as much stuff in the book. Contents are:

Foreword by Al Ewing
The Day the Zombo Died
Planet Zombo
Mohawk of Menace!
Secrets of Zombo's Power!
Cover gallery of 5 covers
Sketches and panel breakdowns - 5 pages

Link to the sellers wares.

You have about a day and a half by the time of this post left to bid so good luck!

News / New 2000AD RPG on the way - is it Judge Dredd?
24 September, 2013, 07:48:02 PM
Cubicle 7 announced new staff members on their website and on one members profile:

QuoteNick Robinson is Line Developer for a new RPG based on a prestigious 2000AD property, and is also providing office support and front line customer service. Nick has worked in the games industry for many years, including as a staffer at Mongoose Publishing and writer for Tin Man electronic game books.

Mongoose Publishing seem to be scaling back a lot on RPGs to concentrate on miniature games so I'm guessing C7 will release a Judge Dredd rpg. They've released an RPG based on the Starblazer comic and done games for Primeval, Dr. Who, The One Ring and The Laundry novels so they should be a safe pair of hands for handling the property.

News / Has American Reaper inspired a film?
16 September, 2013, 12:25:30 AM
Just flicking through IMDB, saw a plot blurb for a film that sounds a little inspired by American Reaper, but then again body switching is trope that pops in sci-fi from time to time: Selfless.

When I am looking at a thread and want to post in it, when I log in it loads up a different thread. Anyone else get this problem?

Here is the text:

QuoteDan Abnett (w), Andy Clarke (a), Antonio Fuso, Andy Clarke (c)

The popular sci-fi strip makes its way to our shores! Finn and Ramone in two classic 2000 AD stories! First is "Money Shots," which sees the two gunsharks crashing the set of an adult movie in order to carry out a hit on a target that may be happier to see them than they expected! Second is "Point Blanc." The duo is recruited to take out a narc boss who owns extreme firepower. Is their mystery employer out for more than control of Downlode's heavy-duty killware?

32 pages, $3.99.

Books & Comics / Comics you are most excited about in 2014
12 September, 2013, 08:07:49 PM
2013 is moving on and solicitations for titles coming in 2014 are starting to appear...

I've not been collecting The Manara Library titles from Dark Horse but I will be getting volume 6: The Borgias, written by Alejandro Jodorowsky. It's down for January.

Another Paul Pope rerelease is due in April, Escapo. It's going to be coloured and extended and will be released by Z2 comics, a small publishing house.

11 July, 2013, 07:18:57 PM
We don't seem to mention published artbook/sketchbooks much on these forums, so why not have a thread?

The Elephantmen & Judge Dredd crossover has been spotted in another thread, but did anyone spot the other (semi) 2000AD related Image solicitation in October 2013's previews?

Anyone pick up any of the Definitive books that Panini release? They look like a good way to introduce someone to Marvel Comics. Any thoughts?
