: FIGHT!: Tharg TMO v's King Troutman
: ukdane 25 February, 2003, 06:24:36 PM
Sky news this morning (very early) we're suggesting that our friends across the water want a debate between Sadam and G.W. Bush.

I want to see one between Tharg- The Mighty One, and King Trout.

Winner rules the messageboard!

Irrelevant. I already rule the message board.

Tharg who?

You mean I get to dust off my old "Darth Eyebrows" cloak and light sabre?  Bring it on!

That said, I was most disappointed to not win favour with the fishy one over my addition to the "embarrassing tales" thread.  Thought I was in line for another medal there- for stupidity and buffoonery above and beyond the call of duty- but alas, no...

Maybe I'll leave my light sabre where it is!

Bah!

Everyone was congratulated, especially hilarious drunks like you, Lord Eyebrows.

Fear not, for your King holds you in slightly less contempt than most other subjects!

- That's a Trouty compliment, by the way

Id like to see the fight drawn by either Jock or johnny Eyebrows as a fanfic.........

Cheers lads- I'll take that as a compliment!

Better than medals is that...

Well, nearly.

*sigh*
Fine, have a medal. It says "Matt is great" on it. Happy?

Anyway, I'm loath to take part in any more board discussions like this for a while.

A number of grumpy sods are beginning to piss me off quite a lot, as they object to anyone having a laugh.

"A number of grumpy sods are beginning to piss me off quite a lot, as they object to anyone having a laugh"

I reckon the "grumpy sods" are totally out-numbered by those of us who enjoy reading your posts.

It's people like you, Karne and Jared who cheer me up every day.

Don't take any notice Trouty, and carry on posting.

what's the matter, Trout? worried the big scary green man'll beat you up?

Scaredy-cat! Scaredy-cat!

Well, all kidding aside- the grumpy sods don't *have* to read anything that's "off topic".

I don't get the big deal about this anyway.  If it was all "on topic", we'd forever debate the crapness/greatness of Sin/Dex- or something else equally tedious.  There's only so many times you can weigh up Hookjaw against Shako after all.  I reckon all fan sites can benefit from a bit of off topic banter- and usually find that those with strict on-topic rules are a bit- well- boring.

The fact that I can come in here and talk about virtually anything is what makes it stand out from the crowd, for me.  I like the people here and I like the inane discussions that they often provoke.  I can tell you that I wet the bed last night and people will either reply, or they won't.  It'll amuse some and leave others cold.

I didn't wet the bed last night, by the way.

The fact that we all have something in common (2000ad) is just a bonus in my book.  For a start, it means I can say things like "Grud on a greenie" without feeling too much of a twat.

I shall wear my medal with pride.

There's plenty of room for fun & serious posts here IMO. Mebbe a 'just for fun' thread label option being available would help, so anyone not interested in silliness can steer clear if they aren't in the mood, tho' tbh its pretty clear anyway.

Long live the King !

you're right, except for one thing:
There's no limit to the number of times you can weigh up Hookjaw against Shako.

Marbles, You swear your alligence to the King, over The Mighty One?

UKD, you forget that one of my many villainous disguises is the dreaded Darh Marbles, proud wearer of a cool black cloak type thing & all-round evil henchman & tea-boy to God-Emperor Trout...

I'll fight anyone you like, or at least send one of my faithful followers - keep on praising, you terrific bunch - to do it for me.

TMO? Does that mean he's "the mouldering octogenarian?"

My comment is:

THARG'S A BIG GREEN JESSIE!

Oh, all hail the King of the board!

He won't, UKD. He's terrified of me.
He's a big green woofter.

Anyway, if he's from another planet, doesn't that make him an illegal immigrant?

Somebody call the Daily Mail!

the thrill of medals soon wears off, mine are pinned to a old teddy that my missus keeps in the spare room.

i hope you haven't misinterpreted my post about the off topic post your majesty...

my comments were that i don't understand some of the off topic posts as they appear to be about chat room discussions which i wasn't party to.  i've no problem with these posts as i simply don't read them as advised by others in this and other threads.

i just thought i'd clear that up..

a happy with the way things are and not at all grumpy stodge
