Favourite scenes from DREDD

...However as nobody seems to have mentioned it yet, the scene with Dredd and Anderson in the lift where he's just staring at her, sizing her up, and she's thinking, shit, what do I have to do to impress this guy? Really effective at showing how intimidating Dredd can be just by being in the same room.

I really loved the bit with Anderson and the corrupt female cop. Corrupt female cop is so confident about taking her out "If I see her first, she's dead, if she sees me first, she hesitates, and she's dead..." Then of course they walk into each other...and without any boring dialogue or anything Anderson just blows her away having read her mind! Thought that was class.

The lifts were totally Bladerunner nods I thought - both reminding me of the lift in Dekker's slum and in the private lifts at Tyrell. Those, the wire animals the tech guy makes and the music when Ma-Ma is in the bath all seemed complete nods to Bladerunner. Which was great.

Of course I could just be making that all up. Dosen't matter, its still a genius movie, gets better every time I see it. They may have to invent 11/10 soon.

Yeah, your not the only one who picked up on a Bladerunner vibe (though Garland denied the wire animal/foil unicorn thingy?).

By the way, did anyone else notice Arthur Ranson's world map from Shamballa on the wall of the classroom?

That's a great tribute to the mighty Ranson! 

Obviously I loved the whole film, but one small moment, from a composition standpoint, was when Dredd dismounted his bike and we had a camera angled at his thigh and gun holster.
A great shot choice I thought and reminded me of something Sergio Leone might of done-and yet another example of how the filmmakers totally succeeded in putting Dredd on the screen.

Yeah, you can almost hear the Vangelis!  Grud, but that's just an amazing shot.  Quite seriously I think that's one of the most striking future cityscapes ever depicted in film.

One of my favorite scenes is where Anderson makes the perp piss himself.

Calebs swan dive...simply because it was so matter of fact......no macho posing...just fucked off the ledge turn around and gone.
The whole scene just adds to Dredd invinciblility.

Another one of many scenes i fuckin love is were dredd is just walking up the block hallway,
no shooting no talking just walking, the last time i watched a movie were an actor could do something
as simple and menacing as fuck but heroic at the same time was eastwood as the man with no name,
im sure i heard carl urban say in an interview he try`d to play dredd similar to the man with no name,
im sure if mr eastwood viewed dredd knowing this he indeed would be proud

The whole 'Wait?!? Wait for what? For me to change my mind?!' monologue was fucking epic!! It was such a stupid evil villain thing to do, but it so worked in this film.  Lex was just brilliant anyway.
