Post Alan Moore Captain Britain is being reprinted in MWoM (Might World of Marvel (it has Daredevil on the cover in big letters and apic of Capt. Britain et al)starting with this months issue (28).  24 pages of CB strip, plus a complete Daredevil Strip by Miller, and a silly but fun Hulk story (I wasn't going to read it, but gave in).

I was a bit bored so bought it.  It's not Alan mmore, it's a bit wordy (I don't mind words in comic strips) but I enjoyed it.

You can get it in Smiths, in a week or two the next issue, 29 will be out.

complete Daredevil Strip by Miller

That'd be worth reading it for, Millers Daredevil stuff was ace. Of course, I watched the awesomely shitty Daredevil and Elektra movies over the weekend, and spent most of the time I was doing it thinking 'Wow, this would be so much better as a Frank Miller comic strip'.

PVS: Are these the Jamie Delano ones?

Bolt-01

paulvonscott

No.  Alan Davis has drawn and plotted it and scripts are by Craddock, that bloke who sometimes lurks around here - Mike Collins.

They seem to follow on from the Alan Moore graphic novel, but in the story these events are six months on.

I founf the Millar Daredevil a bit corny, but it was obviously well done, and you could see how it was possibly a big deal for it's time.

I'm going to start getting this every month I think to supplement the weakened thrill buffers.

Bolt-01

Think I'll have to check this out. I've got the stories already but I'd love to see CB getting more exposure.

It starts with Captain Britain rescuing a tramp from a monster and we find out how he is explaining his mansion is suddenly repaired.

If they carried them on when would they run into the Jamie Delano stuff?

Byron Virgo

I believe they would, yes.

Might have to check this out for myself, it does sound rather tempting.

Bolt-01

Yeah, this is the stuff that leads up to the start of Excalibur. Some real moments along the way, including what Slaymaster does to Betsy Braddock. Before she got turned into an asian looking psychic ninja by Chris Claremont.

Marbles

Sounds to me like the stuff after the Moore & Delano runs - this is from the listing for the excellent Marvel CB TPB (now out of print I think, I treasure my copy - and the .cbr file of it). Sounds like these reprints start with the story "Sid's Story" - thats the tramp who turns into a monster...

"Sid's Story" - thats the tramp who turns into a monster..."

Well, if that's true, I think I deserved a spoiler notice.

If all of this was ion a TPB I might be tempted to look for that instead.

paulvonscott

It has the first three stories in, Bad Moon Rising-Familiar Places.

Bolt-01

Be nice to see Alan Davis getting some UK exposure.

These are good stories though.

Marbles

"Sid's Story" - thats the tramp who turns into a monster..."

Er, don't worry PVS, its not true, I'm just messing with your head. Er. Sorry.

Just realised, this stuff is almost 20 years old!

I did read flashes of Captain Britain froma round this time, no more than an issue or two, and I think I might have read the story that marbles mentioned, but I really do just have images and flashes.  It all seemed a bit weird and a bit sinister and I always just used to buy random comics then.
