One of the books I picked up at Bristol was Mad Ram, a short story comic collection.  A mix of SF and Horror, A4, 36 pages, beautifully designed.  I haven't seen it plugged, so apologies if I'm repeating what anyone else has said.

Also features contributions from Board Members Arthur Wyatt (2 stories - Insect Head and AntiMatter being the best of the book - a classic style future-shockette that actually shocked) and Gary Wilkinson (1 story - Gemini).  Also an Interview with Simon Bisley.

It's ?3 (plus post I imagine), and worth a punt!

Er, putting e-mails up like that probably isn't a great idea.  Oh well, it's done now, sorry.

Rob Spalding

I got this as well.
Thought it was a good read.  Antimatter was great, I agree.
Hope tis goes on to do well, it deserves to.

If this trend continues, in a few years' time, it will theoretically be impossible to not get a rejected Future Shock printed somewhere.

Bolt-01

I got this as well. Not had chance to read it yet, but it looks great.

House of Usher

Next on my 'To Read' list.
STRIKE !!!

While one or two of them were future shock-ish, it certainly wasn't a comic of futureshocks.

"it will theoretically be impossible to not get a rejected Future Shock printed somewhere."

Low blow. Remember, a lot of people write directly for the small press.

Be excellent to each other. And party on!

Bolt-01

Tips, don't worry.

Mr Superking knows all too well about Small press...

Specifically how to kiss goodbye to a month's worth of PS2 and Gamecube over the head of it.

Insect Head definately isn't a Future Shock, it's more of a moody vertigo type peice.

...Antimatter onthe other hand, well, guilty as charged. That ones been around for a while, and I'm looking forwards to seeing what's been made of it.

House of Usher

I enjoyed Antimatter. Very good!
STRIKE !!!

Tom of Finland

Is there any toned musclemen in sailors suits in this?

RobLunn

Hi Tom of Finland,

Although Mad Ram considers all story requests, I feel yours might be a little bit too specialised for the mag. But I?m sure there are other publications out there!

Many thanks for all the good stuff written about the comic, I?m really pleased people are getting to see it!

All the best,

Rob.

I got my copy today. It's pretty slick, and a well rounded package of stories - I'm hoping it goes to #2!
